It looks like they retrofitted a rack design from a Land Rover design from New Zealand, but they worked it enough to move with the lines of the 4Runner. Functional, utilitarian, and minimal while still being full length are all pluses.

I really like it! I am curious to see if anyone has experience with them...
 
...the above statement was made because it looks like the design was originally made for vehicles with outside gutters.

Looks like a pretty solid rack and will definitely accommodate what you have listed. Although, these types of racks with the side guards/rails outer portions of the rack might prove challenging w/a RTT if you ever go that route that's why personally I prefer full flat aluminum platform racks but looks good overall

Agreed. Putting a spare tire up there is also a pain with the rails. Also, the "side rails" aren't going to be useful except at low speeds. Anything more than a slow level crawl and your cargo should be strapped down anyway.

Yeah, I would not want to be lugging a spare tire up on any rack personally unless I had too. Completely understand why some do on more technical trails though.

It's hard to tell what it really is with the 4 crappy pictures they have up. Are there more picture of it someplace?

Looks basically like a Gobi to me, with no flooring, no cross bars, a smaller wind fairing, rounded side rails and no crossbar on the back.

I am looking at carrying dual spares for some of my more "unintelligent" trips. :behindsofa:
 
The crappy photos led me to the internet to find nada! Then had to reach my post limit in order to start a thread. Price point without the flooring is decent, but no ladder and yeah I might want to put in a RTT. I take it that you can not mount a RTT on a Gobi?

You most certainly can mount a RTT on a Gobi.
I was looking at the Voyager page and it said something to the affect of "Mounting a RTT? Ask about our Camper's Edition to add accessories for little to no cost."
 
I would bet that they're a smaller couple-of-guy operation and just don't have a lot of online presence yet. The racks look good to me, and since they're probably making them to order, you could get probably them however you would like.

I'd say give them a call and they'll probably have all sorts of info and answers for you.

And yeah, I would never put a spare tire on a roof rack, unless it was an urgent situation.

I sent the guys an email a couple of days back asking how the roof rack was mounted and if it required drilling, but I have not heard back. I would assume it is a small operation.

Sorry to resurrect this thread but I was wondering if anyone has this rack and their opinions. Doesn’t seem to be much on the internet in regards to info or pictures.
