Nothing sounds quite like a big radial engine, love those old warbirds. Saw this beauty, T-6 Texan, at Wendover Airfield not long ago. She sounded glorious on takeoff.

Occasionally they offer rides on B-25 and B-17 out here. A bit pricey but worth experiencing something so historical

Warbirds are awesome. I have a special connection with those from WWII because my father served in the Pacific with the 77th Infantry Division (the unit in Hacksaw Ridge). A P-38 shot down an enemy bomber targeting his landing craft at Leyte, and one of the few times I ever saw him get misty was on seeing a Corsair parked at an airshow. All he said was, "They saved me and my buddies more than once. We called them the 'Angels of Okinawa'."

This amazing video has some great footage and sound. The star is a Corsair but he's flying with what looks like a Hellcat. The embed isn't working so please just click here to see it on Vimeo.

Beautiful video, thanks for sharing! And the music by Smetina - Moldau was a great bed too!
