Warping brake rotors

I know, I know....here we go again. I apologize in advance, but I did search some..

I've got a 2007 LTD, V8, 4x4 4runner. The front rotors warp way too easily, I just had a brake job done, including getting the rotors turned, within the past 1.5 yrs. The brakes are shuddering again, and no I don't think it's my driving skills or lack of. This is my 6th 4runner (various generations) and the previous ones didn't have this issue. I've read that the SE versions might have had bigger rotors, but use the same calipers and pads?? I'm not looking to make any brake performance upgrades, just get better life out of my rotors. Bigger seems it would dissipate heat better...?

What say ye?
Thanks!

How were the rotors machined. If they were done off the car (on a bench lathe) then that's your problem. 4runner rotors need to be matched to the hubs. This allows for <.001" of runout. I have seen bench cut rotors over .010" - way too much. Due to the fixed caliper design they are very sensitive to rotor runout.

Find a shop with an On car Lathe and make sure your are using a quality ceramic pad and your problem should be solved.

Have you checked your brake calipers for the dreaded rusted/stuck/frozen brake piston?

Rotors should last more than a year. Im guessing one of your brake pistons in the caliper is seized causing the rotor to warp.

You aren't warping the rotors, you are getting the pads too hot. As the pads wear they can't handle the heat they could when new and start chattering. You need to upgrade your pads to something that will take more heat, or just put on a set of new pads, nothing else.

I have EBC green pads and they do the same thing when they are at about 25% and need to be replaced. After new pads only the brakes are smooth again.

Here is how you can tell... If the brakes are smooth when cold for your first couple stops, your rotors are fine.

Don't worry about turning the rotors on or off the car. It makes no difference provided a competent person is operating the lathe.
