Warranty Repairs - Covered in Perpetuity?

I thought I read somewhere that if you have a repair done under a Toyota warranty, that it is forever covered if it breaks again. Does anybody know if this is true, and if so, does it even apply to things done under Toyota's extended warranties?

I have about 9k left on my 100k Toyota Platinum Warranty, and have had several electronic things replaced under it. So I'm wondering if they ever take a crap again if it's on my nickel.

You'd probably find that answer in the warranty's paperwork. That, or a local dealer could tell you.

I don't have my paperwork handy or I'd tell you - it's a good question. I only suggest finding the paperwork or calling a dealer since you posted this a couple of days ago and didn't get a hit other than mine.

I would doubt they would cover this forever. Most manufacturers will warranty repairs for a specific amount of time or mileage depending on the repair. They may give you an option to extend that warranty at a higher price, but I doubt many companies would warranty any vehicle beyond 100k miles.

I want to say that I've heard specific repairs are covered for 12 months/12000 miles or by the remainder of an existing warranty, whichever is longer. So, if you have something replaced right before your warranty ends, just the repaired part is still covered for another year or so.

Certainly check with your service department for a definitive answer.

This is my understanding as well.
