washer wiper cycle comes on at random - any experience with this?

my windshield wipers have started coming on at random, especially when it's wet outside. I know it has to be a short somewhere, but not sure where to look. They will come on at random times and sometimes just keep going. I can speed them up off the lever, but can't stop them until they do it on their own. They also don't spray washer fluid, but if i pull the lever for washer fluid, and the fluid sprays, they will stop after the normal cycle. i'm thinking there is an issue with the sprayer motor that's causing it. maybe it's separating, getting wet, and creating the short. Has anyone experienced anything like this?

Only time mine ever went on was because my 400+whp turbo talon was launched so hard it would knock the wipers on and the left turn signal. Loved it!!

I had that happen driving back to school last year, same thing as you where it started when it was wet. No idea what caused it but it stopped when it was dry, and I got good at grabbing the fuse to turn it on and off from the kick panel... Hopefully you figure it out too :shrug: Only started after I had removed most of my inner fenders.
