Weak startup when engine is warm

So my new 2000 4runner is awesome. Just had a couple quick questions though. When I start it up in the morning it starts up strong and normally. If i turn it off after driving and up to normal operating temp, run into a store and come back and start it up again, it skips or is very weak.

My second question is regarding my whistle when accelerating in the mornings only. After i get to operating temp it goes away. Could it be from my timing belt that i need to replace or some alternator noise?

I would give more detail. You mean the starter skips or is weak? Describe the whistle more, engine area, does it change noise level/pitch with the RPM's?

When warm the starter is weak and skips and has trouble starting. The whistle is coming from the engine bay, and becomes higher pitched the more i accelerate.

I have heard of throttle body spacers causing a whistle...not sure that's the case here. Does it do it standing still when you rev? If you pop the hood and listen while someone rev's, can you hear it? Or only while you are driving?

There is no whistle when idling. It only happens when i put my foot on the gas, and gets higher pitched the higher it revs. Its odd because it goes away after a couple minutes or until i get to operating temp.

The problem after the trucks warm could be the IAC. It's located under the throttle body. You can shoot some throttle body cleaner down the little hole at the opening of the intake, or take the whole unit off and remove to clean. The symptom of weak running/starting is generally a dirty IAC valve. Google it and you'll find a couple thread detailing the process.
The whistle could be belts that are loose and stretched. Try tightening the drive belts and see what happens.

Do not just shoot some cleaner in there you could be shooting it in the wrong spots or get some overspray and damage the TPS (ask me how I know). It will be much better to simply remove the IAC and clean it that way.
