Weather guard rear section

The weather guard Mat for rear storage section comes with shelf / without shelf , my 2008 ur has the shelf. I see why the mat is different . It covers the whole floor / or just square so shelf can sit on floor in back when not in use.

My question is do you guys buy it that way or just leave your shelf at home and buy the whole floor model ? It looks like if you left the shelf in place you could cover whole floor under neath . I see if you took it down its not going to lay flat and nice on top of the whole mat.

What do you guys do ?

If you want a cargo liner that covers the entire rear cargo area with the shelf down (the shelf is useless, you'll not use it) I would recommend going with a Husky Liner. Their "with shelf" model covers the entire floor with the shelf down. Do a search for husky cargo liner on here, there's been lots of discussions on the topic.

I have the shelf. I also told WeatherTech that I had the shelf. They accidentally sent me the larger non shelf version. It did not fit well under the shelf, especially with the shelf down.

Thankfully, their office was nearby so I exchanged it for the smaller shelf version. It works OK, but with the shelf down you don't cover the entire floor. That's not a problem for me as I got it for use when hauling some hobby materials that just happen to fit on the smaller size mat.

But it's not optimal. The WeatherTech floor mats up front work great in the winter, but the back mat not so much.
