WeatherTech VS Husky Liners

Look'n for opinions on likes and dislikes between the two. I'm referring to the precision cut custom fit liners not the fit all models...

I have a set of WeatherTechs for the wife's vehicle and they are great in coverage and fit. The only qualm I can make is that they are a little stiff so that when removing them to wash them off it can be a little tough to maneuver them without dumping dirt and grime on the floor your attempting to protect.

From what I can tell by looking at the Husky's online is that they may be made of a little more flexible rubber.

I know Husky's are popular here and looking at getting a set of one or the other for the runner. It seems to me that these are the two companies I have come across with best as far as coverage and protection.

Anyone out there with experience with both that can do a comparison.

I had Husky's in my old Cherokee, have WeatherTechs in the 4Runner. I liked the Husky's better because they had a 1-inch or so high lip around the perimeter of each mat that would catch and retain any spilled liquids. The WeatherTechs will catch some liquid, but if something like a drink spills, then it ends up getting on the carpet anyways.

For example, I had a large iced coffee that I had just bought but they didn't put the lid on tight. I grabbed it from the top and the entire thing spilled onto the driver's side mat while I was pulling onto I-495. With no chance to pull over for at least a mile or so, the liquid sloshed around as I drove, spilled onto the carpet, etc. The WeatherTechs didn't really help me much.

I did the same thing once with the Huskys, and the entire beverage sat pooled up in the plastic mat until I got home and could shop vac it out.

The Huskys are slightly more flexible.

+1 on Husky liners, this is coming from a Weathertech owner. Save the money for more important things.

I would definitely go with Weathertechs for the front, Husky's in the rear seat and possibly cargo area as well. I have Husky's all around and they are a PITA in the front, never stay in place, slide around, etc. They are a very durable plastic though, and fit very well in the back seat. The cargo area is kind of a wash, I would go with the cheaper Husky's here as well due to the beating they take.

huskys all around, they work great. and have a better functionality and cosmetic design. I spilt a large iced latte and large hot coffee once, it was great... nothing touched the carpet

I went with the Nifty Catchall Extreme mats, they're similar to the other two and about the same price.

I would say they have more in common with the Husky liners though as they're thinner than Weathertechs (not as thin as my Huskys though) and have that lip to keep liquids from running off the edges.

I had Huskys in my last truck and thought they were great at first but they were always slippery due to not being textured other than the diamonds, which were also slippery. Then all 4 edges started curling up after a while. I still have them in that truck and they still work well but the slippery-ness and curling made me decide to try another brand in the 4Runner.

The Niftys are curling a bit on the side by the door but they're a little thicker than the Huskys so it's not as noticeable, isn't on all sides, and isn't a problem with getting in and out like the Huskys can be sometimes. They have a slight texture to them similar to sand paper or something so they aren't as slick as the Huskys. They don't feel like sand paper, they just have a small texture instead large treads. The Niftys also have a lip around the outside similar to the Huskys.

I have never seen the Weathertechs in person so I can't really compare with them but I've seen others complain about them being thick and liquid running off.

I also like that the Nifty's appear mostly plain and don't have large design features like the diamond plate look of the Huskys or all the ridges in the Weathertechs. The smaller grip features also keep the mats from knocking extra mud off of your boots.

I had a full set of husky liners in my 2005, and I now have Weathertech in the front and middle, and Husky in the rear of my 2007.

The Husky liners were great. I had no problem with them. I chose Weathertech for my 2007 simply because I was curious. Both brands provide good floor coverage. The Husky liner covered more of the left foot rest, and the Weathertech covers more of the entry sill (see image). The Weathertech only covers about half of the foot rest. Personally, I like the Weahertech front liners more than the Husky, but that is only because I like the lip that covers the entry sill.

I ordered the Weathertech rear, but I returned it as soon as I put it in the vehicle. The liner did not cover the entire area, which seemed useless to me. I now have the Husky in the rear and it covers the entire area. I originally ordered the rear WT with the "with optional cargo shelf" spec, which may have been the reason the liner was so small. I ordered the Husky with the "no cargo shelf" spec.

You can usually find a code for advance auto for $30, sometimes $40 off $100. They sell weather tech and nifty. Order the front and rear together and the back separate (or whatever combination gives you $100 per order) to save $60 or more on a set.

Had Husky's all around in my JGC (before buying my 4Runner), I now have a Husky rear liner, and Weathertech in the front and middle on my 4Runner. I give the thumbs up to the Weathertech in the front because it covers so well, my only gripe is the gray gets dirty fast and if your foot is wet you can slide on the liner while getting in. I narrowly give the thumbs up to the Weathertech in the middle (I only had Husky mats previously), but when you go to remove it to clean, it is stiff and the way you have to pull it out you are prone to dump dirt and water on your rug. I wait until it's dry, and carefully maneuver it out. Husky in the rear fits perfectly.

I went with the huskys 1st and 2nd row. I find they cover the drivers foot rest better than the weather techs I had in my Tundra.

I have the weather tech set and a husky rear cargo liner. I'm pretty happy with them other than the fact that you will likely need to pump or vacuum out most of the loose dirt from the backseat liner before removing it because it's such a tight fit. You'll end up spilling it all over the seat or carpet anyways.

I hear the husky's are better in this regard. Either are worthy investments for your truck though.

Husky vs. WT

I have the WeatherTechs in my Jeep Liberty CRD (oil burner). The fit is great although I was surprised at how "lightly constructed" they felt--and by that I mean they weren't a solid chunk of rubber matting (like my wife's factory Volvo moulded mats) but rather were made from a much thinner piece of plastick-y rubber.

Would I buy them again? Yes. But for someone trying to decide between the two brands, I would try to get my feelers on them beforehand to decide what I wanted first.
