WeatherTech vs Husky Liners

I read a previous thread regarding mats vs liners and color choices, but I'd like opinions or pros/cons of WeatherTech vs Husky liners from the more experienced 4th Gen community (I've only had my 06 Sport 4WD V6 for a couple of weeks ). The only difference mentioned in that thread was that the Husky was a softer, more flexible material, but I don't know what that translates to in terms of durability. I plan to do fronts, 2nd row and cargo (no 3rd row or shelf in mine).

I have Husky's in my runner. The tan matches good and the fit is perfect. They have been in there since 2008. I've never seen the Weathertech's in a 4runner so I don't know how they would compare.

WeatherTech hands down as far as fit and finish. I had to buy Husky's for my wife's car because WeatherTech did not make them and was disappointed after having had WeatherTech's in the 4Runner for years.
 
ive seen both in person and cant really tell a discernible difference. I personally ended up with the weathertechs, but my advice is to get whichever one you find goes on sale/cheaper. cant go wrong with either one
 
Seems like old huskys curl up around the edges. I had weather techs in my 3rd gen and liked them so much I ordered them for my 4th gen I just bought a few weeks ago too.
 
Not sure if other people have experienced this but my passenger Weathertech on my 07' Sport has a very odd fit. Its not enough to try to get it replaced but it does not fit as well as all the others (Driver, Back Seat or Cargo area).

I had weathter tech in my old 4runner and the new 4runner I purchased has husky liners. I have been greatly disappointed in my front husky liners, I do not like them at all! although i think huskt has a new design out now?I will get rid of them for weathtertech soon.

A little off topic but why are 5th gen weathtertech so much cheaper then 4th gen?
 
I think the Husky's look very nice but temporarily I have installed Goodyear floor mats in mine, so far so good! I like the lower price of the Husky's verse the Weathertech's & believe they would do just as good of a job protecting the carpet!
 
Had the Husky Liners for 5+ Years. Didn't like their aesthetics at first but their design has proven to be effective in cupping all the crap that's fallen on them. i.e. French fries, mud, crud, sand, snow etc. Easy to remove, easy to thwack and put back in. A quick rinse and your back in business.
 
I have weather tech's front, rear and cargo area. They are easy to clean, look great and fit flush. It makes cleaning the car a breeze. The only time I use the vacuum is to clean in between my wet okoles and in the corner under the gas peddle.
 
I'd suggest going with WeatherTech, but do keep in mind, they're a bit more expensive than the WT's. If you decide to go with Huskys, keep in mind the curling edges. My mom's got some husky liners in her '04, and while they work, they have become victim to those curling edges, so they no longer fit as well as they once did. Don't take this as bagging on Husky's, because they are nice, and the curl isn't bad, at least not to the point on where it should be the only deciding factor on which you buy. Neither me or my mom have owned WT's, but I haven't heard a single complaint about them, and those of which I've seen have still (I didn't necessarily know how long they were in, or how much they've been kicked around) have a perfect fit.

TL;DR: For around $50-$70 more, you can get WT's, which I've never heard anything bad about.

Edit: The "$50-$70 more" is based on prices I just looked at on Google. (i.e. May not be completely accurate)

Edit2: I use the Toyota All-weather mats, which IIRC are (being) discontinued. They're great mats, and although they don't have the super-high raised edges, they work great, and I honestly prefer not having those edges to trip over when getting out of my truck :P

I put Weather -Techs in my Lexus, mothers Lexus350 and girlfriends Jeep, they all work but I have Husky in my 4Runner and the fit is the best of all four vehicles. I would have bought Husky for all of them but weren't available in the years that I need - only bad thing about Husky, they don't have the selection that WeatherTech has(year availability). Both brands take a beating and do the job but you have to decide if you want to spend the extra money.

Can't go wrong with either brand and its the best investment/mod I have done.
 
I love my Digital Fit Weathertechs, they fit great and I haven't had any issues with them.

I have seen some Husky liners and they're nice but I haven't seen any that are "digi-fit" like the Weathertechs.

My only complaint about the rear cargo unit is nice, but I wish it was longer for when I have the rear seats laid down.
 
I got weather tech digital fits for the front and middle row and love them! I got Husky liner for the cargo area because i heard the weather techs with the plastic being a bit harder than the husky's stuff tends to slide around in the back.
 
I have both as well. I have the Husky cargo liner, been in for 2 years now and no complaints. Very easy to remove and clean for how large it is. I have Weathertech for all the passenger areas and they're great as well.
 
Another vote for weathertechs as well. I swapped over my 09 Tacoma weathertechs to my 08 4R, and they fit great. Extremely durable, they will last you many many years.
 
Huskys...

Huskys for me on two different 4runners (my '99 3rd gen and my current '07 4th gen.)

I don't think there's a huge difference between them, but the Huskys are about $20 less + they have free shipping, whereas the WTs will charge for shipping. Total price difference I think is around $40 ($80 for Huskys and $120 for WTs.)

This was last Summer so I don't know if the prices have changed.

As for the "curling edges" I haven't experienced that. My Huskys have proved to be very durable and a great way to keep the carpet clean. I only have them on the front since I rarely carry passengers.
 
I received Huskys for Christmas (Front, 2nd row, and cargo).
I had talked about wanting them because I had been told they were a bit softer and more 'rubbery'.
I have never seen weather tech's so I can't compare but I was very let down to find out that the Huskys were very plastic and not rubbery.
Stuff slides easily in the cargo area and the second row had to have quite a bit more trimmed for my power seats than what the diagram showed.
Cargo and 2nd row (after 2nd row trimming for power seat) fit very well.
Front fits 'ok' but they don't stay seated in the carpet as well as I expected and the drivers side does not lay flat against the console and it's kind of annoying cause my foot hits it occasionally when I'm driving.

Over all, they do the job.. but if I had been the one to purchase them instead of receiving them as a gift I would've most likely returned them to give the WT's a try.
