WeatherTech window deflectors on TRD Pro?

Hi all - just wanted to get some suggestions. I recently traded in my 2004 SR5 for an Inferno TRD Pro. I had the wind deflectors on the old one and loved it. So, dumb question - for those of you have that the newer style 4-Runners, do you like them (style and functionality) And would you recommend the dark or light? I'm thinking dark since everything (with the exception of the Inferno color) is blacked out.

I have the Weathertechs in dark smoke to match the bug deflector, love them. Miles ahead of anything else in quality. Had the AVS on my FJ then upgraded to Weathertech, night and day difference in quality and fitment.

AVS Low Profile style are what I installed. They don't stick out as far, look better, and surface mount for less wind noise. Definitely get dark tint.

Added them on my TRD PRO. Love them in the rain or when you just want some fresh air with the window cracked.

Cant go wrong with the low profile AVS! We do them for 85.12 delivered which beats them by more than a fiver + we give some from every order back to the forum. :thumb:

Whether you go AVS, Weathertech, or other, from experience with both styles, I would recommend surface mount over in-channel. For the same reason that I prefer the "fat" off-road style to the newer "slim" models.
With in-channel slims, you get about a quarter of an inch of space for air movement. On a hot, muggy day, with heavy rain, I like the significantly increased air flow of the older style vent visors. Surface mount stick-ons improve the airflow just a bit more.
Must confess I am the oddball here, in that most people seem to choose them for looks, and are willing to accept less functionality.
I tried to get the monstrous off-road visors for my 4Runner, but nobody seems to make them for this vehicle. :dammit:

As to the OP's question, I think the dark/smoke ones would look great on that inferno orange!

I have the low profile dark AVS deflectors. I love the fact that I can leave my windows cracked in the Houston heat. Either brand or style you go with are almost a must down here.

Just put my AVS seamless on and it seems ok but we will see how they hold up. I like how not noticeable they are and yet provide some air flow. they dont seem to "function" as well as my old in channel weathertechs but we will see. so far they seem ok, we are suppose to get some rain this weekend so i'll see how well they work.

Do you know where i can find the surface mounted ones for a 2018 Limited? I do not like the in-channel because it keeps loosing up the window channel and eventually create a gap that will cause some issues. I had it on my LS430 and had to take them off they also scratched up the tint.
