Weird dash noise 2007 V8 SR5

Anybody else have a 4Runner that sounds like a type writer is inside the dashboard when the key is on?

Yup!! Drives me nuts. 03 4Runner and there are a few threads about this. It's the AC something... forget off hand.

It's the blend motor. Solution one, replace it. Solution two live with it.

solution 3, take it out and put locktite on the worm gear. Problem solved forever for about $5. and 1 hour of time.

I just did it, it was not that bad of a job. Just have to get the white rotating gear off of the actuator and make sure it stays in time. Hint: be sure that the setting is on "dash vent w AC" before you remove it and it will be easy to retime the gear.

Oh sure if you wanna be all Fixie and fix stuff then I suppose that would work
