Weird noise at high speeds on a 2000

So, when I'm at high speeds (or at least that's when I've noticed it) there is a certain whine the car makes, that goes away if i start coasting (the whine is there even if your just keeping it at speed) Is this normal? (its a 2000, and I just got it earlier this year) Is there anything I should check?

Diffs? Check the fluid levels? Check your rear wheels for signs of axle seal failure?

Mine kinda does this too, I'm pretty sure it's the timing belt/water pump/clutched fan loading and unloading. I'd love to hear a definitive answer, but I'm not worried about it.
