I had just come to the conclusion it was a Dodge Spirit, which is apparently the same car as the Acclaim.
Thanks for the assist. I'm gonna get me a trailer axle.
When Menlove Dodge/ Toyota replaced the head gaskets on my '93 SR5 V6 4wd Extra Cab with the 3VZ-E under warranty, I had a loaner car that looked exactly like that. It wasn't a terrible car to drive, but I was glad to get my truck back. Anyway, yep that's a Dodge Spirit/ Plymouth Acclaim.

Misc, there were a handful of turbo Dodge guys out in Salt Lake who run some pretty craptastic Mopars like said car above. I used to hang with them in college when I had my old TII Daytona and sometimes at car meets you'd see 5 or 10 Spirits (a few TIIIs) all lined up. Those cars could really haul ass though if you had them done up right. Not sure if those guys are still around or if their cars disintegrated by now, that was 10 years ago.
Sorry, reminiscing...anyway, that wrecking yard reminded me of where I found a lot of those cars for parts. Best thing about a Turbo Dodge, junkyard = parts store.

I was just referring to the regular beam drop axles, I think they could be used upside down, but they cost $290

I didn't know they made those. Yeah, like that, but I expect mine is going to run me about $50 .

technically you could use it upside down, but you would likely see accelerated tire wear. there is camber built into the axle, and when you flip it over, it throws it way out. more so once a load is applied.
