What clutch? Noob to TOY.

I just got my first TOY. 90 3.0 5pd 4Runner 4 door. I am still learning about them. I dropped down into a mud hole yesterday and all of a sudden had no clutch. I think it was just slipping. When I got pulled out of the water the clutch started working again as it dried out. The rest of the day it seemed to work ok.

I am thinking it is getting worn and being submersed made it slip?

What clutch kit do you guys reccomend? I am not a hard wheeler. just trails and snow/sand mostly. There seems to be a huge price difference. I see some from $129 to $600.

Your clutch shouldn't slip, even when wet. But the fact that it works fine when dry makes me wonder if your flywheel needs to be milled. I would go to your local parts store and buy their oe replacement clutch. It shouldn't be more than a couple hundred bucks. Then add a few bucks to that if your flywheel needs to be turned or replaced.

I don't know about 2nd gens but I got a clutch for my 1st gen for $79 today from OOOO'Rielly's and the flywheel resurface is about $30 around here.
