What could this leak be?

So I have only owned this 4runner for 4 days and its been an experience:

Anyway today after replacing the battery and doing some cleaning when I noticed a leak behind the passenger wheel well

It's not oil and is a water like substance. What could it be?

This is the ground after a few hours:

could be the rear heater coolant lines, hard to tell the consistancy of the fluid from the picture. They run on that side. There is an inflow and outflow. Two steel lines

the consistency is basically water.

Were you running the air conditioning, like somebody already mentioned above? Since I'm from the Bay Area too, it was pretty hot today so I'm guessing you where. That's a normal area for condensation to be dripping down from the A/C lines.

Just make sure that water is not draining directly over the frame. This could lead to corrosion later on. I have diverted that AC drain hose with another rubber hose so it drains directly to the ground. I plan to keep my 4runner and sprinter (aka prizm) forever... until the death do us apart!

Interesting. I would think water would be harmless to the frame. It was my understanding it's the areas of the country that salt the roads in the winter and people who live in coastal areas have to worry about corrosion. I'm sure my California truck has seen plenty of rainy days and I have zero rust issues. No offense, but I think your concern of condensation from the A/C lines dripping on the frame is unwarranted.

They're supposed to have a little short section of aluminum pipe stuck in the rubber grommet that carries the water slightly away from the firewall so it drops (a bit more) straight down. But that's sometimes missing.

A few inches long, 90 degree bend, on the passenger side of the firewall. My wife's 4Runner was missing it, I grabbed one for free-fitty from a PnP junkyard.

However, your steering rack looks a lot like mine when mine broke. Would keep an eye on that.
