What did everyone pay for their 4th gen?

Bought my 08 SR5 V6 last March with 37K Miles on it for $28K, after my trade in (03 Sport V6 - 110K Miles), I got it for $20K out the door with a bumper to bumper warranty :thumb3:

not likely since a comparable 08 LTD v8 just sold at auction for $15.200. so they must have traded it in at or below that number. Also depends if you traded something in towards the new to you 4runner
but as a retail customer, including tax and tags OTD...thats a good number.
FYI: you looking at around $800-1000 for the timing belt water pump service. mine was never done till i had it done at 165k

4x4's in general sell for a lot more up here. considerably more.
also, they had to fix the sunroof, aswell as replace the sunshade. that, on top of the 4wd low actuator, all of that after they priced it. i figure they'll be into it atleast $4k in repairs.
it sold for $17k, thats means that had to get it for $13k or less to make anything on it...
and yes, the belt hasnt been done. they wouldnt budge on that, but were willing to do it for their price. $550. no thanks.
i just ordered the parts, i'll do it myself for less than $300.

i have $500 in OEM red box parts. What are you not doing in the $300?
I did pump, pulleys tensioners, seals, tb belt and acc belts. Wholesale labor was $250

no seals, and no accessory belts.
doing the pump, tensioner, idler and belt. $200 shipped at rockauto. aisin brand.

ohh, no wonder. My truck lasted 165k and when i ended up doing it, the belt looked spanking new, upon closer inspection it showed signs of aging from the cracking. the pump did show evidence it was leaking and then stopping from all the caked up residue.
a job like the timing belt and water pump service...i would not trust off brands. have bad experiences with the asin pumps in the volvo community. blowing up a v8 from being cheap is not on my list of to do's LoL

Remember that those dealer auction prices vary across the country. West Coast is typically higher and those cars usually don't have any signs of rust which I would pay a premium for.
I hope that my V6 4Runner doesn't suffer from a head gasket issue down the line. It is supposedly a huge job.

I finally took the all refreshing plunge and bought a 1 owner 2004 4runner with 91,000 for $10,600 OTD from a Toyota Dealer. We feel we got a great deal plus they did the timing belt/pump, brakes, and a few other items. I asked for the service info from the Service Manager as it was not entered into ToyotaCare when we were looking.

2006 Black SR5 4WD with 118k miles for $12k OTD.
2005 4Runner V8 4x4 Limited with EVERY option and 103k miles. Near mint condition, and aftermarket stereo/nav/amp. $14,300 private owner. He was orginal owner, and did every recommended service at the Toyota Dealer. That includes the timing belt/water pump/belts, also has brand new shocks.

We were looking to downsize from a 2006 Nissan Titan crew cab (fully loaded....leather, nav) to something that got better gas mileage....and was lighter on the car payments. Picked up a white 2006 Sport V6 2WD with 155k miles for $10,000 from private party. I wasn't really looking for one with that many miles, but they were all freeway miles and its in great condition otherwise. Had her checked by the dealer, and it was a clean bill of health.
