2008 SR5 purchased over a year ago with 90k on the clock for $18,000. Didn't have many options and the dealer took a trade in on my 2004 sequoia whoes lifespan was being measured in days at that point. Spend the first half of its life in Arizona so spotless underneath but most of the finish is baked off the roof. At 105k now and strong.
everyone wants to pretend they got the best deal on their vehicles so if your looking, take these numbers with a grain of salt.. they dont mention the thousands spent on maintenance, taxes, fees, ect..
from what I see you are going to pay right around kbb excellent condition give or take 1k.. regardless of condition, but more based on location..

I don't think anyone includes taxes and fees in the prices they report so at least everyone's being consistent. That said I see a number of folks paying a good $1-2K over KBB (mostly for newer or "more desirable" models).
The folks who manage to get down to KBB usually do so on older vehicles needing a bit of maintenance. Still for buyers who can do their own work these seem to represent the best deals. (e.g. in my case I paid right around KBB VG condition private party price for an 04 4WD that needed front brake work, but was otherwise in nice shape. $250 for pads,calipers and rotors and a day to throw them in and it it works fine and is still a decent deal).

Taxes and fees are different everywhere. It doesn't make any sense to include them.

I paid a bit of a premium from the stealership, but it's really clean and I didn't have time to shop around for private sales.
07 v6 silver sport edition, 102k for $15.5k... previously owned by a 40 year old gentlemen that bought it new from the same dealership and serviced there through the entire ownership.

in my world its what you paid to purchase a vehicle.. to take possession.. to own.. how much comes out of your pocket..
if one guy pays cash, another guy pays a loan at 20%.. did they pay the same for the car? id say no.. one got raped..
if you paid 12k.. put 2k to get it up to date on maintenance.. and paid 2k in taxes and fees.. then what did you really pay for the vehicle?
i say its 16k.. Im pretty sure the IRS agrees with that.. maybe Im wrong..
but people on the internet are notorious at low balling what they really paid..

Hi all. I recently purchased an '04 Sport with 79k miles on it for $9800. One owner, maintained, and in good shape for its age (has some light rust underneath, a few door dings, and the interior could use a good cleaning). The front brakes needed a complete overhaul so that was another $800 to have a mechanic do it for me, otherwise the car got a clean bill of health from the mechanic.
Now I'll be watching if the car develops the head gasket issue.

8.5K OTD for. 2006 Limited V6 4x4. 155K miles. Likely another 700 in maintenance + 500 on upgrades... So all in under 10K.

2003 V6 SR5 with 153k miles (Black with iron cladding) for 4350. Just needed brakes, tires and a good wash.

2007 V6 Limited, 66k mi - very clean in and out, small lift and 32" Duratracs, Thule basket, snows on stock wheels, no maintenance needed, ready to go. Paid $16.5k, private party.
So far I have managed to resist scratching the itch... I've only upgraded the headlight bulbs, reverse lights, and swapped the factory rubber mats for some Weathertechs... so far. My shopping list starts with a 3" OME lift, UCA's, and a full set of skids.

Got my '05 Limited with 183K miles at auction for $6700. Put a on new timing belt & replaced fluids for about $500.
Runs like a champ - Couldn't be happier.

The cost I listed ($13K for a 2008 v6 limited 4wd @ 128K miles) was final total cost I paid to the dealer, everything included. About a month later I paid ~$700 to change all drivetrain fluids, a/c recharge etc. That's essentially my total purchase spending.
