What did everyone pay for their 4th gen?

With the V8 the one thing you don't to wait until it breaks to fix is the timing belt, it should be replaced every 90,000 miles as regular preventative maintenance, also replace the water pump at the same time since it's buried in there with the timing belt, all the work to do the belt would have to be redone just to replace the water pump if it goes bad and the leaking coolant will deteriorate the new timing belt.

If the timing belt breaks because it wasn't done it will 99% of the time totally destroy the engine when valves hit the pistons!

At 190,000 miles it's past due to do the timing belt if it hasn't been done recently!!

The timing belt was done at like 96k, almost 7 years ago. It's getting close, no doubt, but it appears to be in good condition and I really doubt it will snap. I figure I'll probably see how we look on paying off all this sh** by next tax season then do the full Aisin kit with water pump, tensioners, etc. When I bought my 06 MDX in 2018, it was still on the original timing belt at 133k. A friend of mine changed the belt, said it looked great surprisingly.

If it breaks that quick on a Toyota engine that's not known for breaking them I'd be very surprised... And pissed!

$15,000 from a small dealer. 74K Miles, 2WD Urban Runner with the TomTom deck in the dash and a sunroof (on my list of musts). One owner it's whole life and it was serviced by the dealer all that time.
Been eyeing the 4Runners for a new ride so I jumped on this one when I saw it it.
Worked out a few kinks since I got her; she needed a new gas cap to turn off the check engine light, and a leaky sunroof. Water would leak in from the bottom of the dash when it rained. That water may have wrecked the on board computer cuz I had to have it replaced when she wouldn't start up one day.

Threw some new tires and she's been running like a dream all across Texas since then.

In an effort to help my son in law find a used 4runner I was stunned to see the prices people are charging today. I paid $6500 1 year ago for a 07 sport with 222,000 miles. Today I could sell it for $12,000.

I paid $7000 for a 220,000 2005 V6 about 2.5 years ago. Since then I have spent another $7000 to keep it on the road.

Check engine light came on after I drove off the dealers lot, he didn't want to help. After replacing the ecu then the radiator and other bits n pieces the head gasket went. I ended up having a 2008 130,000 mile engine put it. Still get bugged by silly check engine lights, currently it's the bank 2 sensor 1 that's popping up and yesterday I replaced the latch on the tailgate. Sometimes I hate it but then it just catches my eye and I love it again.

Have considered selling it and losing money to buy a used Tundra.

Got it mine for $7000 6 years ago with 132k miles from original owner. Put about $7-8000 into it over the years in mods and maintenance (Most in 1st year only bc I started to mod it and things were rusted and broke. Just did my exhaust recently).

My 4runner is pretty much all good minus some rust and lil things that dont bother me. Coming up to 170k miles.

I bought my 2007 back in early 2009, it had 36,000 miles on it. Fairly base model SR5, V6, 4WD but with 3rd row seats and very thin black pin stripes on the side. At the time everyone was freaked out by the "unintended acceleration" scare so I only paid $21,500. Plus they gave my $9500 for my 2001 Tacoma in trade. Now, a dozen years later I am almost at 180k miles with no major issues. It is now getting driven by my step-son (since I got myself an 2021), who doesn't drive much- so hopefully it keeps going.

I paid $17950 list price on a 2008 Limited model in red with 82400 miles from a Toyota dealer in Pennsylvania. they were not negotiating but based on the carfax they had done all fluid changes, new air and cabin filter installs, and new shock absorber installs, so it was acceptable to me.

Some rust on inner door panels and rear hatch, but expectedly so, especially living on the cusp of the Canadian rockies and the weather that we endure.

I never thought about it before, but do Canadian vehicles log km (kilometers) instead of miles? Did you just recently buy it?

Just last month I bought a 2007 V8 4WD Sport Edition for $15k USD. It has 123k mi on it and is in excellent condition. It cost more than I thought it would be, but there are others priced considerably higher; CarFax rated it as a fair price. Originally, I was going to buy a 5th Gen V8, but I saw that they no longer make a V8. I wanted a V8 4WD for the 7000 lb towing capacity. Then I saw the Sport Edition, and decided that I had to have that. In spite of being 14 years old, I just said that it didn't matter, 4Runners are ageless, I will just maintain it forever.

In 2017, I bought a 2009 V6 4WD SR5 with 100k mi in very good condition for $14.5k; it just became the wife's primary vehicle.
