I just bought (Feb 2017) a 2004 SR5 4x4 for $9k from a dealer
The good:
112k miles
1 owner
No rust
Perfect interior
Good color combo
The bad:
Faded/Cracking/Peeling body flares and bumpers
A few dings and dents
Overall, I think the deal was fair, but think about all the money I want to put in to it between getting it in mint condition and upgrades.

Sounds like you got good value. I bought my RWD from a dealer as well and it's in pretty good condition. I was looking around for a 4WD but couldn't pass this one up once the dealer dropped the price to $8k. All the 4th gens near me with similar mileage were priced 4 to 6 thousand more.

03 Limited 4x4 - 130k - $8,600 sale price - $9300 after sales tax.
Original owner came in and traded it in for a new Mazda for his wife. I waited for it to get out of Detail and bought it next day. I work in the dealership business.
We just bought a 2007 Limited 4x4 v6 with 225,000 kms (140,000 miles) for $12,000 Canadian or that would be $9000 in US funds.
Had to put windshield to pass inspection for out of province, no smog testing where we live.
The V8 models up here are going for less than because most have cracked exhaust manifolds. I think because of the colder weather, they heat up and cool down too fast. Dealer quote was almost $4.5k to replace.

Back in 2006 paid $17,500 for my 2003 V8 with 26K miles. Thing was spotless.......still pretty clean at 154K =)

Super excited to have just gotten mine!
I picked up a one owner, no accident, ZERO rust '08 Sport Edition V8 4WD with an excellent maintenance history that literally looks brand new - always garaged and a Southern California truck - for $14,900. Trade-in at a dealer, which meant that included a new serpentine belt, brake pads, air filter, pollen filter and oil change/chassis lube service to boot. 120,000 miles.
Sure, I had to fly out to California and drive it back to Texas, but worth it! Love the truck!!

Black 04 SR5 v6 80k miles $5,000 purchased from my father.
2003 Silver Limited V8, 125k, with OME lift, Sport hood, TRD dual exhaust, K&N intake 18" BBS RW-T wheels, 275/70r18 Duratracs with 60% remaining.
One owner, no accidents, no records except oil changes and transfer case shift motor leak fix. Rear brakes, one UCA ball joint, both front half axles, and transfer case output shaft seal done by dealer I bought it from.
Needs a wheel bearing, timing belt, full 120k service, sudden accel recall, cracked dash (just in time to get done free).

Just bought an 06 Sport V8 with 75k, very clean for $18,000. Price was actually lower than the going rate here in Colorado, got lucky. I actually passed on a low mileage 08 Limited V6 that the person was asking $21,000. Crazy.
