What did everyone pay for their 4th gen?

keep looking. i had to look at 4 of them for a month before finding one without
undercarriage rust, 130k miles, white, no dents or paint issues for 7.3k...i almost shook hands on one with awful paint the day before (maroon too) for 2k more. it was clean underneath, same miles, drove fine... be patient.

This. We looked for over a year but the reward was a pristine truck with everything I was looking for and even the color I preferred, all at a great price.

Unfortunately, I've got a lease that runs out in the middle of October. So, I've got a bit of a deadline. Honestly thought it would be easier to find one in good condition than it appears to be.

Unfortunately, my theory is that most of the people that are willing to keep vehicles in good condition also aren't willing to hassle with private party sales and deal with the Craigslist wackos. Therefore, the good vehicles get traded in and dealers try to go way over KBB pricing.

Too much, as I needed to get out of my 5th gen lease and this was the one the dealer had. Still, it's a one owner with very little rust, engine runs smooth with no leaking and the transmission feels strong. I'm happy enough with it.

I looked for over 2 years before I got mine and it still wasn't as pristine as I would like, cladding/plastic pieces needing repainting but the rest of the paint is in great condition, and frame is dirty but no rust at all, 135,00 miles, but I got mine for $1800 under KBB private seller Fair condition price from a used car lot, so I can live with the faded clading or remove the clading and repaint it myself and still be way under the KBB value.

But yes all the others I looked at were way over KBB even from private sellers, dealers were not even on my list to go and look at as the few I looked from at dealers online were astronomically way over KBB dealer prices so much so it wasn't even funny, BUT I wasn't in any rush to buy had plenty of time and was mostly only looking at private sellers, but I couldn't pass up the price on mine!!

I did go out of my way to stop at the dealer with '06 Limited. At first they didn't want to show it to me because they were detailing it. But after threatening to walk and not come back they let me see it. It was way trashed for only having 75,000 miles. Both front seats had worn through leather on the side bolster. Carpet was trashed, and paint blemishes that appeared to have been touched up with a rattle can. Really not sure how they can justify the asking price, but they will probable get it. They also had an '04 with 92,000 miles which is much cleaner, but they wouldn't let me drive it yet and it appeared to have a ton of rust underneath. That one is also $2k over the KBB dealer price.

I recently picked up an 06 garge kept V8 with 75000 miles with full service records for 17k. All services were performed at the Toyota dealership too. The best part is the previous owner already change the timing belt. I Saw the add on auto trader Monday night, Tuesday morning I was at the dealership right when they opened ready to sign the paperwork.

i picked up my 2005 v8 sr5 a few months ago for 5600 with 185000km. pretty good shape, bit of rust but solid underneath. replaced the spare tire assembly, put on rock sliders, stereo and backup camera. getting a lift next week and hitting the trails!

I paid $7500 for my 05 sr5 v8 2wd with 154k. Single owner, and he had service records going back to new. Timing belt and water pump replaced b about 10k ago.

I think I answered this thread a while ago but ~$18k for an ‘07 4wd limited with ~128k miles.
Part of me has wondered about the V8, but I’ve been extremely happy with my decision. In just under 2 years, my only issue was having to change the alternator.

If you have no rust on the frame and the 4WD works correctly, it sounds like you got a great deal, did you buy from a dealer or private seller?

07 4runner limited

So I’m back in the market recently since I totaled out my 2 owner 97 sr5 2wd with only 170k on it. I just came across a 2007 v6 4runner limited 4wd that is a 1 owner and has 113k on it and the dealer is asking 15k. Does this seem to be a fair price if the t4r is in excellent shape with no rust on the frame?

2006 V8 SE with 1435000 on the clock. Paid 12.5K Gotta love Alaska prices.
On the bright side, I bought it from the original owner, who had receipts for everything the dealer had done to it. Aside from the airbag recall and needing a fluid change, it's good to go.

Paid $3500 for a 2003 V8 SR5 2wd back in Sep of 2017 with 230k.
I fell in love with the V8 and decided I needed a 4wd.
Sold the 2wd for $5000 after cleaning it up and putting wheels from a 2016 SR5 on it (takeoffs).

Bought a 2005 Limited V8 4wd with 183k, navi, RAS, for $3500 from a private seller in Aug 2018. Bad rust was the reason for the great price. The AC compressor and starter went out within the 1st 2 weeks of ownership. I did the starter myself (no small task on the V8) and spend about $1400 on the AC plus a few other small repairs.
I'm going to list the 2005 for sale next week because I found the truck I really want and now I am going to have to put down some cash...
