Don't forget about adding in taxes and fees. I paid $9k for my 2005 v6 4x4 with 140k 2 years ago but had $2k in taxes and fees.

Hi all, looking for some advise and as I'm new I'm unable to start a new thread. Looking to purchase my first 4runner in Ontario Canada. I've found a 2007 white sr5 with 75000 km on it. Original owner, absolutely mint. Garage kept, not winter driven. New tires, all fluids good, no rust anywhere. Has all documentation, original window sticker etc. He's asking 21000 Canadian. Now I know these trucks hold their value and I really like it but do you think given the condition Id be overpaying?
Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Well you're not giving enough info, while you say it's a "2007 white sr5 with 75000 km", you leave out very important info, while including that it's white which is mostly irrelevant you don't say if it's 4WD or 2WD, V8 or V6 both of which affect the price, also does it have leather, heated seats, sunroof, or any other options.

I will however add a translation for price and mileage for us Americans so everyone else won't have to look that up and then maybe you will add the other info!

Does come with full weathertech mats front, rear, and back area.

One big thing is to check the frame for rust; they're known for it unfortunately. By that year the V6 head gasket issue was fixed so you shouldn't have any issues with that to look out for. LED tail lights are correct for that year. It does have very few miles on it, I'd want to know if there's a reason for that (maybe by some stroke of luck it wasn't driven in the winter!), and I would check anything that could go wrong from not getting used; not doing fluid changes as often as necessary and so forth. Sounds like a good deal though, just make sure to inspect that frame thoroughly! If you're not sure, post pics and we can help give you an idea of parts of the frame to check more closely if anything seems suspicious.

I'm not sure of how much a 4th Gen sells for up in Canada but it sounds like it should be worth around what the seller is asking but I would still try and get it for much, much less starting off, you can always go up on an offer but it's hard to go down if you offer close to what they're asking at the beginning of a negotiation

2005 SR5 V6 195K miles. Lived its whole life in Tucson and Albuquerque so no rust. A little fading on the clear coat on the flares. Interior perfect. $6,500.

The real cost was more like $8,200 though:

$1,100 for a set of new tires and tire pressure sensors
$300 for a used brake master cylinder to fix a failing pump/accumulator
$300 in other miscellaneous parts (air filters, spark plugs, driver's sun visor, radiator cap, fuel filler cap, HVAC knobs light bulbs, battery ground strap, 4 transponder keys, 2 keyless entry remotes)

2008 Limited 4.7 95k miles $16k at a Toyota dealer. New trade in that hadn't hit the lot. I got to look at it when it was up on their lift.

Called my credit union to see what they valued it at...she said $17k. I find I get better local used values doing that rather than KBB.

Every recommended service until I bought it was done at a Toyota dealer. I downloaded the service history from Toyota.

Exhaust manifolds have already been done, and I got the dealer to replace the center differential lock actuator under their 2 month/3000 mile powertrain warranty.

Even more important, there is minimal rust on it. That's hard to find in Maine...where vehicles over a few years old look horrible.

It was the only V8 I could find within a 2-3 hour drive. I had been looking for a while.

I think I answered this thread a while ago but ~$18k for an ‘07 4wd limited with ~128k miles.
Part of me has wondered about the V8, but I’ve been extremely happy with my decision. In just under 2 years, my only issue was having to change the alternator.

Gosh, that seems high for one that old with the high mileage. These are going the same way as the jeep wrangler, very sought after...

I have to look more closely of the rust underneath, it shows its new England age, but I haven't crawled under yet to know whats really there, which was stupid, but I forgot to bring my dirty climb under car hoodie.

Zero stains in the car. as if they had weathertech mats and seat covers.
The dash pad is cracked, so it sucks they missed the free replace window. Its right along the front rounded edge, I almost missed it.

All in all, its a very solid price, as long as the rust isn't worse then what I glanced at. I'll report back after I get to take another look and test drive.

Basically its 10,000 for a 05 V8 sr5 with only 109,000

Looks like no one has posted here in awhile...

I just bought an 04 Sport with 87k from the original owner. Clean inside and out. Little rust on the tailgate where the metal license plate frame sat.

The plastic around the car is faded from sitting I suppose. Gonna look to see if I can clean that up.

Underneath isn't to bad but not the best. The Rad support needs attention and while jacking it up today one of the drain holes on the frame opened up a but. Besides that seems ok just gonna clean it up and coat it I think.

Don't think he's ever washed it! lol I'm going through it replacing the suspension, full tune up and all the fluids.

Only things he's ever replaced are the alternator, front calipers/pads/rotors, spark plugs once, transmission fluid once, tires course.

Everything else is all original and it shows!

7K still gotta pay the dmv tax and tag once I get it on the road.

I picked up a 2004 Sport V8 4x4. Full Toyota tax in effect in the PNW. Asking $11k for 154k miles, two owners, private party. Leaking XREAS, no other major issues but lots of scuffs and scratches. Got it for $10,400 and feel pretty good about it. Guy had just listed it that day - didn’t even get a chance to vacuum it out - and had 6 calls on it and two folks who checked it out. Hard to find anything with reasonable mileage out here.

Swapping out XREAS for a Bilstein 5100/FJ coil setup. Otherwise gonna keep it pretty stock for family adventures and mild overlanding.

I've put a little over $1000 into it with swapping the XREAS out for Tacoma stuff, needed maintenance work and swapping the stock rims over to 2003 Sequoia rims that I got for $150.
