i like obama and i also liked mccain. i did vote for obama though in this election because i did think he could do some good for our country and i'm pretty sure he will somehow. in all honestly i don't think the man has a choice if whether or not if he will succeed or fail. if by 2012 he hasn't done good i hope Mitt Romney will be the republican to represent the party and not Palin.

I dont know, but that DOES NOT seem like "change" to me, seems like the same ole BS. And now, he is not going to look into off shore drilling
Hes such a lair, I cant believe that people actually trust this guy with thier way of life.

The stimulus bill is one thing but the real kicker is twice that amount that the Treasury and Fed will be using to nationalize the big failed banks. And soon.

I must admit...President Obama is better than i thought. He is not a pure bred liberal. And i am happy that he is going against some of what he promised during the elections...politicians, what do you expect?! 
He is finding out that being President also means that you no longer can blast your mouth without a full understanding of the matter at hand...and you cannot follow your own party's ambitions.

Hmmm, Bush wasn't all that crazy afterall! Hell, in his speech Friday, President Obama even defended Bush's decision to go after Saddam! His plan for troop withdraw is not all that different than what Bush had planned. For all the Bush bashings during the elections, Obama is not all that different now...as was pointed out by me during the election debate on this forum! 
For NOT being too radical to one side, i appreciate that about President Obama. He is showing respect for his predecessor, which was severly lacking during the election. He is becoming a person i am having more respect for.
Maybe history will look back on Bush administration with more leniency...it is pretty clear that President Obama has already....

Heh He is doing what most other president would have done. So far I hasn't seen, nor expect, anything radical about him. It's the same old thing in a different twist. I figure as much about him in the beginning. That's why it doesn't surprise me at all. Plus the left is the new center or so they say
Though, I have found that most liberal and/or libertarian are smart people whom are willing to compromise. Sadly the same cannot say about the so called social conservative in politics. Don't give me wrong I love the social conservative ideas as long as they keep it within their family. They are the glue that hold society together. Especially conservative women, who doesn't love 'em? But they have no place in national politics. If one wished to be a conservative women she should stay home and be a good wife, be a good mother. That's the only thing I ask.

I don't agree with Obama at all. Pork bill isn't going to do anything. Obama considers my family "upper class" and with California's state taxes rising as well, just wow. I am not at all upper class. I worry about taxes every month....yet we're still giving freebies to illegals. Good job Obama

cracks me up how people get all on our case about how the prisoners were treated at gitmo...yet no one considers how these same accused terrorist would treat americans if they captured them. gitmo keeps americans safe. i dont want any of them on US soil and access to US courts and tax payer money. if they must close gitmo leave them there w. it to fend for themselves.
