What Gas Station/Brand do you guys use?

Hey all,

Personally, i prefer the big names, like Chevron, Amoco, Mobil, or 66, when traveling. However, in my small town, i use Diamond Shamrock...it has good price and has an automated car wash. I also use a Chevron Fuel System Cleaner (synthetic) every 5000 miles, with oil changes every 5000 miles.

I have been using Mobil for years, once in a while I go to Exxon but 99% of the time I fill up with Mobil.

I always go to a big station on a major highway that way I know the gas is at the freshest and is never just sitting their for a few weeks before it is refilled.

I also always fill up in Jersey, the 87 usually runs around $1.40 and the 93 at $1.60, compared to NY in my area 87 is about a $1.70 and 93 is just under $2.00

In my 2001 4Runner I use Chevron or Texaco when my Son is with me, cheapest price for candy. I use Exxon when I am alone near my home, easy to get to and a Wal-Mart gas station next to it lowers the prices. And of course I use Quick Trip when I need air for my tires, as they have free air. I only use regular grade gas, I'm afraid I am not good to my 4Runner when it comes to gas.

When I got my 00 V6 4Runner the dealer said once in a while to use the higher grade gas. I guess it cleans out the system or something like that.

I put the higher grade in when traveling far...but not often I use it.

Anyone else is a 3rd gen V6 Runner do that?

I use the 91 octane from Mobil every time in my 98Runner,runs great and the gas mileage stays constant at about 19-20 miles per gallon.I heard alot of other's always saying in the older trucks it does not make a difference,but IMO it does.I don't ever let generic beer OR wine go into MY tank,so what the hell,fill me AND the truck up! As far as the octane rating for the new runners,straight out of the manual it says that 87 is fine,but if you want peak performance,go for the higher rating.Yo EDGE,even a damn Escort would go like a bat out of hell if YOUR damn shoe mashed on it!LOL!!!

I always used Mobil premium when it was cheap 'cause I was told it was the only grade with the fancy detergents and treatments in it. Don't know if that is still true. And since gas has started climbing, I stop at Sheetz whenever near one(low prices). I always drive right through a station if a tanker is there filling/stirring up the crud from the tank bottom. Used to dump in Chevron Techron until it's price went through the roof. Now get BMW fuel treatment for $2.35 a bottle.

Edge,you should know by now that 80% of them are full of ----,and the remaining percentage are well on their way.Just the the Marine Corps motto..... the few the proud.Questions like the SC clearance and mechanical operation we need to ask either Gary or the one tech that works on my truck.

Most of the time I use Mobil. When I first got my 03 4 Runner I used Super, now i switch the Regular. Really didn't noticed any difference.
