What is it?

Almost 100% sure that hood scoop is a tacoma hood. Unless they use the same stamping, I'm guessing TRD Pro taco. But why not introduce it in orange?

Because Inferno is already an OEM color option on the 3rd gen Tacomas, so is Quicksand.

Looks like a functional hood scoop on a different note

Damn. And I was the one who posted on the Toyota FB page under the New Tacoma announcement that they needed to hurry up with the TRD Pro model and make it turbo/super-charged. That def looks like a TMIC under the hood.

Maybe I should have waited ....

They're misleading you guys, it's not a truck being released, it's the Supra!

While I realize that photo is not at all a Supra the sad thing is if they did release one prices would likely fall in line to that of current Mk IV asking prices......still can not believe what some of those sell for.

At least it looks like Toyota built in glare protection on that scoop

What intercooler?

A new FJ would be cool, but it appears to be a Tacoma.Lets hope that hood scoop is for the top mounted intercooler.

It does look look like a TMIC through the scoop. Could be a Taco PRO or could be the return of the X-Runner, is my guess. I'll be in Chicago this weekend, but I know we won't be able to make it to the show.

I am sure the scoop is just for looks. The sport models already have the scoop and they aren't supercharged or turbocharged.

We can all dream it's functional and it's an American spec hilux. Give me that diesel!

Hate to burst bubbles, but those horizontal slats look like the standard TRD Sport Fake Hood Scoop to me. Probably a Tacoma TRD Pro, but I would be shocked if we saw a forced induction motor with a TMIC.

Toyota's current petrol turbo motor, the 2.0, mounts the intercooler down and behind the engine. Subaru is really the only mainstream brand that uses a TMIC, as far as I am aware.

Just saw a video of this truck from the filmmaker who we also work with. It is in fact a TRD pro Taco. And boy is it gorgeous. Video should be live tomorrow.

I told myself I'd wait until the 17 Tacos came out because I was waiting for the Pro. Still glad I went with the 4Runner. On the other hand, if the Taco Pro has a boosted engine ... Doubt it now, though.

I was waiting for this, but I don't have any regrets about going with the 4Runner and all the shit I can haul in the back, locked and covered.
