What is the distinction between FJ and 4Runner Exhaust?

What makes the difference between the 2003-2009 4th gen 4runner vs. the FJ Cruiser 07+? Both engines are the 1GR-FE (for V6 models) and the angles of the exhaust looks roughly the same. The body of the FJ is shorter in length, so the cat back part of the exhaust is probably shorter than the 4runner, but is there any difference that would make it directly vehicle specific, or is it just the length of the system?

Ultimately, could you use a FJ system, but weld in a pipe to extend it longer and get the same results and have it work?

FJ is longer

FJ IS SHORTER, SORRY HAHA.....I worked at a Toyota dealer for a decade and TRD 4R exhaust was discontinued, but FJ wasn't and measured. It's been a few years now, but think it was 4-6" shorter than 4R. You could run a patch pipe I'm sure, just didn't want to cut up a new system.
