What is this thing on the dash?

I'm fairly new to 3rd gens. While I was installing my SCII today I pulled the lower dash and found this electrical connection that plugs into what looks like a small vent on the outside of the dash piece. Its down and right from the ignition. What is that?

what does the other side look like? like if you put the lower dash back whats the front side look like?

That's the interior temp sensor for the Auto A/C. I believe.

Haha I have that too! Saw it when I installed my amp. On the front there is nothing. It's just smooth. I thought it went to that little vent but it doesn't. I'd be Interested to find out what this Is too.

He got it right, learned this when I installed that system into my 97 out of an 02. If I ever believe something like that to be a good idea to cure boredom again I think my other half will kill me out of frustration (both mine and hers).
