Haven't posted in forever here. Just thought I would put something up in case someone else runs into this problem.
I had a couple weird electrical issues show up in the last month. First, my rear hatch glass wouldn't roll down at the switch on the dash. It would however roll down if I used the key in the rear hatch. Assumed the switch had gone bad or shorted and needed to be replaced.
The other day, I realized that my rear brake lights were constantly on like I was pressing the pedal. Went through all kinds of searching, checked the brake switch under the pedal, even pulled it out and continuity tested it, the plastic bumper looked fine, checked the wiring to my trailer harness like 4 times, took apart interior pieces, etc. Never found anything definitive. Thought I fixed it at one point, only to have it start up again the next day. Finally found the culprit last night. The wire loom that goes between the car and the hatch at the top had the yellow and green-white wires sheared clean and were making contact. I noticed when I opened and closed the hatch, the brake lights would turn on and off. No other wires had issues, just these two broke. Just figured in case someone else is pulling their hair out with a similar issue to check the wire loom at the top of the hatch. A couple shrink wrap crimp connects and it's all good to go again.
