So, I'm sure most of you guys have heard about the soldier being murdered in broad daylight in London. Not only is the crime extremely disturbing, but so is the reaction of bystanders. What the hell??? Two guys murder someone in the street and the only person who confronts them is a woman. Freakin' pathetic.....All the men in the background standing around like pussies should be ashamed of themselves.

I have a feeling it's not limited to Brits. This is a difficult decision for most, especially if they have not previously considered being in such a situation. There is a risk to getting involved and it seems many people would opt to avoid it. I think this would be a good opportunity for everyone to take a few minutes and consider what they would do in a similar situation, rather it be intervene, observe and report, or run and hide. At least you'll be that much more prepared and not standing there like an idiot doing nothing.

As for the lady that intervened, it was brave but also a bit foolish and didn't help the victim. She was awful close to that lunatic...

Agree with bofa. I read articles all the time about people in distress with bystanders doing absolutely nothing. There are 3 basic types of human being; the sheep, the wolf, and the sheepdog. So who do you want to be?

+1 for that lady being way too close. LEO's use a 21ft shoot/no shoot red line for a reason.

In another age, he could have been a radical socialist, an anarchist or athiest, a Christian Protestant, or even a Jew, or any other ideology you can think of. To think that Islam WAS a motivating factor is to fall prey to the us-against-them mentality the lame-stream media wants you to have. It's got nothing to do with their "religion" - they are as far from traditional Islam as the Branch Davidians were from traditional Christianity.

also, I don't think this would be Islamic motivated, muslim maybe. But generally speaking muslims are the one you see who will do violent action, TRUE islamics are non violent.

ddnww is right on it--there's something about situations like this that always goes unsaid, because people don't like to think they don't know themselves as well as they hope. Anyone who says those bystanders should've rushed in, or more specifically, that THEY would've rushed in, is merely being hopeful. Not one of us knows how we would react in an extreme situation--we HOPE we'll have courage when we're up against it, but we really never know until it happens. Just like when people win the lottery, or get a lucrative pro sports contract, and in a couple years they're broke--we have no idea how we would handle the same life-altering event until it actually happens.

A man more people should read about and his work. Someone gets one chance if they are close to the 21ft mark. After that, bang! It is that simple. I was thinking about that when I first seen the video footage. I guess Sheep Dogs think alike right.

As far as the people in the background standing there. It is because they have never seen something so violent and are in total shock. They are trying to rationalize that someone has just murdered right in front of them. Most humans will respond this way. Very few act on the moment and will do something about it as you can see by the pictures above.

Guess if they could carry this might not have happened, Hummmm. I'm just saying.

But that is ok because after a mass shooting in the UK they got together and took guns away and restricted them even more. It did lower the gun murders though but guess what went sky high? Stabbings and slashing.

Actually, I live in Oklahoma where we believe in the right to defend ourselves and I would simply pull out my CC .38sp and shoot them. But I know you think we should all wait around for the cops and hope they don't pick a child or some one else to hack up next. You seriously would just let a woman walk out there and risk her life?
