What is your average speed when OffRoad?

I think this could be an interesting topic, as im sure everyone has a different preferrence.
It could depend on the trail I suppose, but I typically am at <5mph and I PREFER to go slower.

Im gonna post this at toy120 and I bet there will a big diff. between the two boards as a fair number of thoses dudes like to 'fly' down fire roads and over woops and washboards etc. etc..

So, basically what is your comfort speed on the trail?

Depends on the trail. I off road in the desert, some trails can be taken fairly fast 35-45. Others with rocks, steep climbs or big drop offs less than 5. Most trails here are a combination of everything. Usually I switch between hi and lo range as needed.

I tend to go slower (unless on a washboard trail...i hate those things!)

But slower is better .... less risk of hitting something too fast and too hard. Well for the trails I enjoy anyway....

so you guys hit washboards faster?? I go slower on these parts of dirt roads.....

and this thread at toy120 was basically just laughed at, I expected more but hardcore doesnt mean smart.

Actually, there is something to a little speed on a rough dirt road.
At some point you will hit the reasonant frequency of the suspension and it will ride smoother.

I'm into rockcrawling, so I'm usually doing around 0.25 MPH

I pretty much follow the Land Rover philosophy: "as slow as possible and as fast as necessary...."

I am almost always in LO range off-road. The only time that i am in HI is over washboards (i hate those also).
