if so, that doesn't look terrible. maybe the manifolds but its hard to say.
i bought my 03 from my grandpa who owned it since new and garaged it 75% of the time (in michigan) and the block looks about like that. probably just from salt and such. 9 years in the elements will do that (surface corrosion).
lastly, i looked on my dealer auctions last night for you and similiar runners to the one in question are going for about 20-21k at AUCTION, meaning the dealers still have to make money on it. i always compare with auctions because thats a pretty good representation of an asking price if you figure the dealer buying still has to make a few thousand bucks on top of the auction price. also, it was a gmac auction so most dealers are looking for GM products, meaning the toyotas go for even cheaper than if a yota dealer was looking for it (domestics dont want foreigns on their lot).
