What would you do? (First Time Buyer Q)

Hey all, I am in the bay area of California and have been looking for a clean v8 fourth gen. Preferably 2005+.

I do all my own wrenching so minor things are not an issue for me, but a decent buy and a well maintained vehicle are.

I have trolled and read alot of threads on what to look for but can a few of you shed some light on the MAIN things to really use to negotiate?

I came across this one today and am wondering what all of you think of it? Is it overpriced? Should I aim for lower mileage? Should I be worried it was in a "rear end collision , no airbags deployed"?

I'd be a little concerned about the rear collision.
The mileage doesn't seem too bad for a 7-8 year old truck.
I'd also think about the mpg a full time 4WD V8 gets.

I assume since its a one owner, they were slightly rear ended and they claimed it. Ive seen some CARFAX's that were very light and the car was a junker, because nothing was claimed or noted at a dealership.

I will probably take the car to local mechanic for him to check it out.

MPG isn't a big deal, its probably better then my 520rwhp daily driver now...

Get the price down a bit.
Make sure the center diff. lock engages & make sure it goes into 4 Low OK.
Timing belt should have been done by now on V8, check that
