2 wheel drive vs 4 wheel drive....

Do you "need" a 4x4 ?
Do you wheel it ?

Bottom line, its YOUR choice.

I do wheel it VERY seldomly and no I don't NEED a 4wd I have a 4wheeler for hunting I'm just kinda torn on what I want...should that mileage be anything to worry about?

150,000 / 6 = 25,000 year
25,000 / 50 (2 weeks vacation) = 500 week
500 / 5 days = 100 day or 50 each direction.

That sounds like a commuter car but not too high. L.A. traffic is a whole other matter.

When you say "Same note" do you mean 8k sold and 8k bought?

Or are you saying this note is $225 month and new note will be $225 month? For how many extra years?:nerd:

All I know is that I wish mine were 4WD

Well I believe they are strictly highway miles not stop and go traffic. Here's the deal.. Right now I pay 185 a month for my truck and my wifes vehicle and I owe 2700..I would sell mine for 6000 and pay both vehicles off and take what's left and use it as a downpayment on the 2006 that they are asking 10,000 for so basically I will end with right around the same note

I don't know what your same note lingo is, but assuming you can sell your truck for 6, you'll be in an extra 4grand of debt (in addition to the 2700 you owe now)
For a truck that is newer, but has the same mileage and you already know what the surprises are on the truck you have. And third generations are better trucks and you'd also lose your 4X4

I'd keep the one you have and pay it off. Car payments are a suckers game.

ok so you dont "need" a 4wheel drive, does it snow where you live ?
I really wouldnt worry about the mileage, these are Toyotas lol
they will last 300K

Agreed. Pay off your cars and enjoy the lack of a payment. The newness of the newer 4Runner will wear off before your new payments do.

I agree. I personally have two vehicles, paid cash for one financed the other. I like the one without a payment better (the 4Runner).

But yeah, if you really want a payment, you can have mine. :naughty:

... for a Klondike bar

You need to consider what the cost is, not what your monthly payment is.

Thanks guys I think I have decided to get it just as long as I can talk my wife into it. That 245 hp v6 will be a nice change with better fuel economy and a larger gas tank

Threads like this make it hard on finding a 4runner to buy

stuck on a 5speed 98-2000 4runner 3rd gen
or get the newer motor in auto

the 5speeds are marked up so much with just a few grand more i could get a gen4 with usually less miles and bigger motor

To add to the thread you should try to save it up, have your gf/wife save up and finish off her own car, maybe get a new 4runner next spring when prices possibly go down (since out of winter season)
I have owned my last two cars and you get far more appreciation out of whatever you own

Well after thinking long and hard about it I decided to keep my 3rd gen..I only owe 2600 on my wifes car and my truck combined and plan on paying them off with income tax this coming year and then I will own two paid off vehicles!

Good choice. Once they are paid off remember to pretend you still have the loan payment and put the same amount of money each month in a savings account earmarked for your next vehicle purchase.
