What would you want in the 6th gen 4runner

Last night I was thinking of what I wish toyota would offer from the factory and thought that a overland expo trim would be cool with factory rear mounted tire and a return to the 2nd gen tailgate along with things like a diesle option and 6 spd manual option and a proper 4x4 drive train what would you like to see as factory options from toyota?

I would just like some decent sized "hidden" storage compartments in the back. That's the only thing I find myself really wanting in my 5th gen. Places to store the hitch, bungee cords, tie down straps, emergency kits, tools, etc...

More interior color choices. Not everybody wants black.

Khaki, OD green, or tan paint options.

Clear coat.

Sheet metal that doesn't ding when you stare at it.

The release of the super-secret, confidential, water fording depth. Toyota is either feigning ignorance, or is truly ignorant of it.

Room for bigger tires.

True, mechanical positraction. With a true, mechanical electric locker. In the same diff. They are currently made and not unobtanium in general, just not made for toyotas.

A real roof rack option.

An under hood light.

A cigarette lighter/charging port that works with the ignition key out.

A real horn.

A navigation option. OPTION. It's not an option if you have to get it.

Not entune. Anything else.

A radio that doesn't lay in wait for 5 or 10 seconds after you start the car and then scare the crap out of you by blasting on at full volume.

Throwback to the 3rd gen body style but 4th/5th Gen size
Removable Hard top
Ventilated seats for A/C and Heat
Built in snorkel that comes out behind the sun roof
Side steps that have rigidity of sliders with removable steps like N-Fab makes
Built in brackets and cut out for winch or the option to have a trailer hitch built in the front if you want to be able to move your winch from front to back
Larger wheel wells

rear locker

modular roof rack with multiple accessories/mount components
heavier doors (current ones feel cheap)
and Range's idea of larger wheel wells!

multiple standard USB ports throughout the vehicle (I have 3 children)
standard LED lighting throughout
more storage compartments
a dashboard guaranteed not to crack!

*5 Speed Tans

*Dule Case Transfuse case for the 4x4 system

*Get Rid of the IFS and run a solid axle that is smooth as butter

* Everything locks up together just like the 97 FJ80 did.

* Factory 35's

* A good roof rack

* That's a good start.

Well, it's a work in progress.

Like I haven't decided if Kate would be sitting cowgirl or reverse cowgirl.

I'm sure Toyota has an engineering division specifically tasked to address those concerns.

1. Way better paint. The paint on the 5th gen was just awful.

2. More power please. I don't need 5th gen guys coming in here and telling me "It's fine, what do you expect from a truck!" or "Its just the transmission, if you floor it every time its great!"....No. I owned one and it was unacceptable.

I am in a 4th gen V6 now and it doesn't frustrate me near as much as the 5th gen. I do tests on all of the hills I couldn't gain any speed on in my 2012 and I am able to accelerate up them in my 2005. Must be because the 5th gen is 500lbs heavier with the same engine/transmission.

3. Get rid of the 3rd row option and create some storage solutions back there for my tow hitch and my jumper cables, etc. If you put your kids in that 5th gen 3rd row you should be reported for child abuse.

4. Horn. The 5th gen horn was pathetic.

5. Better interior materials. That silver paint stuff in the 5th gen was an embarrassment and would get scratched if you farted next to it.

6. More colors!!! Please Toyota, people like unique interior colors and for a car as expensive as the 4Runner they like unique paint colors too.
