What're your thoughts on this budget lift setup?

Hey guys! I'm thinking of putting together a budget lift for my truck. I don't do much off roading so my biggest priority is decent ride quality. I've never yet seen a 3rd gen cleaner or more well maintained than mine so I don't want to do anything halfway but I don't need anything fancy that I won't use. I'm kind of a newb so let me know if this is a terrible setup, but from what I've been gathering, I think it should work. I'm generally not a fan of Bilstein products but I chose their struts for the front because I like the adjustable perches--I HATE rake so I could always lower a notch if needed :) What're your thoughts on this setup? Also, I chose the KYB LC shocks for the rear because I've seen some people using LC shocks and I've been really impressed with the KYB's. Should give me the length I need but I'm hoping to avoid the stiffness/rake that often comes with LC coils.

Front:
81088 - Moog 99 tall front springs - $63.79
24248730 - Bilstein B8 5100 struts - $235.58
RTDD1-KB - Revtek diff drop kit - $31.99

81041 - Moog 99 tall rear springs - $35.79
KT09107BK - Daystar 1.5" spring spacer - $35.96
KG54301 - LC80 KYB Gas-a-just rear shocks - $71.58

Shipping for all of the above - $~100
Alignment - $~120

Total - ~ $695

Since your getting the billisteins with adjustable perches , I would forget the Moog springs and just use your OEM springs.

I had almost the exact “budget” setup as you’re laying out when I first had my 4Runner. I quickly moved on from it. I went with Old Man Emu 880s and 906s in the rear, 10mm trim packers in the rear, with the 4Runner Bilsteins front and back. I spent about $700 on this setup and didn’t do a diff drop kit.

Problem is, the 1.5” Daystar lift is gonna stress out your shocks pretty quick, you’re adding another “joint” where they can fall out, and the Moog springs will sag out pretty quick.

Here is how it sits now:

I've had a good experience with the adjustable Bilstein struts. I run them with a similar setup and the same diff drop kit. I agree with Ehahn84, I'd stay away from the Daystar 1.5

I'm not understanding how 1.5" spacers in the rear would "stress out the shocks", but I do agree it's worth the money to go with OME(2890?) coils. Save for a couple more weeks- or month- and just do it right. It will ride and perform much better, and longevity will be much greater with OME vs Moog. You'll be saving money in the long run.
I'm on a budget lift myself, and wish I would have gone with OME coils up front instead of the OEM '99 tall I'm currently running. I installed OME 881's with Tundra 5100 on my buddy's rig, and his rides MUCH nicer than mine with the same Tundra 5100(but with OEM '99 talls). Granted, my pre-load is set higher for a higher ride height.

Man this looks perfect to me, nice ride! Can't figure out why your tires look so much bigger than mine, I think my Duratracs run small.

Forget the diff drop, and go with the OEM Tokico LC80 shocks instead of the KYB. [emoji1360]

Thank you all for the great advice. Really appreciate it! :)

Moog front springs have a 595lb/ln spring rate, versus the stock 500lb/in. That means they will be notably stiffer. Coupled with occasionally-queationed quality, I would second the recommendation to simply reinstall your OEM front springs on the middle or top perch.

The Moog rears, however, are only 125lb/in, versus the stock 160(or 170?) lb/in. That means while they will be very soft, they will sag a lot under heavier loads, which is supported by lots of anecdotes.

Bottom line, take the $136 you would have spent on the Moog springs and Daystar spacers, and put it toward a set of $167 OME 906s! Then, reinstall your OEM front springs on the top perch and you'll be lifted about 2" F/R.
