Whats better SR5, Trail, or Limited?

Hello to all. I am planning to make my first 4Runner purchase. However, I do need some help with some of the questions that I have.

Is there a big difference in the off road capabilities between the SR5 and Trail? I dont have an interest in the Limited. I would like to get a 4Runner with a 3rd row, but they dont make Trail models with the 3rd row. Does the SR5 do good offroad? I dont expect to be plowing through big mud holes, but I do plan to take it off the pavement every now and then.

I really wanted a trail edition myself. But finding a red one wiith the premium interior/electronics was like finding unicorns. Was looking at wating for one by chance, or ordering one and waiting months. (Yes, it HAD to be red )

I test drove a TE in silver but there was a red sr5 premium staring me in the face and rather than wait for months I got it instead.

As an offroader, (with new tires) it is far better than my tacoma ever was. The only thing it is missing that really makes any difference is having a locker which I am going to add myself.

The KDSS is nice, though not really necessary I don't think except for some extreme stuff, and at that point people would be swapping out other parts anyway. It also seems to go south and is costly to repair.

The Crawl control I don't know about not having used it, Nit I havent heard much feedback other than some people don't like it due to lag in input and would rather control the throttle themselves.

So over all, the locker is the one real missing item IMHO and even then that may be for more serious stuff than you plan on doing. The 4 Low with a-track is freaking amazing (Which the SR5 has) and by itself has made offroading a lot more secrure feeling than my tacoma which did have a locker! THat plus the down hill assist (Also in 4 Low) Makes the non TE a very capable offroader.

The Limited seemed more suited looks wise to being a road queen, though it is just as capable as the SR5 with the same features The interior looked too fancy for an offroader to me
