What's the best way to clean undercarriage?

So I'm getting tired of my undercarriage looking like total crap with all the dirt and some mild rust on it. I'm curious as to what's the best way to go about cleaning it. Anyone recommend any products or ways to clean it? Thanks!

Cleaning undercarriage

I just throw an oscillating lawnsprinkler under it for about 15 minutes front then rear while I go do other stuff. Works like a charm.

A couple times a year, I like to bring a set of ramps to the carwash. I'll pull up on the ramps, and give it a good rinse, soak it with a mild degreaser (I use 50/50 simple green and water). Let it soak for 10 minutes and wash away.

I have a hard time believing there is any natural rubber in any of those things. Thousands of people spray if all over the bottom of their car - just like I did.

Most people degrease (Royal purple for example) and then pressure wash. It's not hard to do if you have a floor jack, 4 jack stands, and a gas or electric pressure washer.

Others do that in the winter and before the winter do rust coating on the components, like POR-15 after using a wire brush to clean off flaky rust.

Just search the forums and you'll find many threads.

It says it may cause swelling on non-oil resistant rubber. All seals, boots and bushings under your 4runner are oil resisant. The experts that apply FF all the time just say to keep it off the brakes and exhaust. . . . for obvious reasons.

Dang, never thought about bringing ramps to a car wash, good thinking!
