whats wrong with paypal?

sooooo ive looked everywhere for an answer, but i cant find it, so who better to ask than my fellow toyota buddies!

any idea whats going on with paypal? i log on and it gives me this message

The site's security certificate has expired!
You attempted to reach www.paypal.com, but the server presented an expired certificate. No information is available to indicate whether that certificate has been compromised since its expiration. This means Google Chrome cannot guarantee that you are communicating with www.paypal.com and not an attacker. You should not proceed.


lets just say things seem to be a little sketch with this. any iedas?

I can login to my Paypal account.
Try deleting your browsing history and type www.paypal.com.
If its still behaving weird, then temporarily block paypal or lock your bank account tied with paypal until you can you can login normally. Also enhance your paypal security by changing passwords and adding/changing security questions during a successful login.

Did you by chance recently upgrade to IE 8.0? I did last week and since then almost every 'secure' site I visit had that issue. You can right click the red security certificate warning note in the browser bar and then upload the latest certificate - that should work.

Also, like borg said, just go into your Internet Tools and clean up your browsing history and the site should pull down the latest versions on its own the next time you go there.

I have PayPal and use it at least once a week - no issues.

So you're not using IE..and you experienced the issue in both Firefox and Google Chrome.
Try checking the date and time of your machine. I remember getting that message when my date and time doesn't match the website. It was caused by dying battery in my bios and the clock slow down( or stopped) thats why the mismatch in time settings. Reset the date and time.

If you are using windows - windows update may offer you a fresh batch of security certificates when you ask it to 'check for updates'.
