What’s your first mod gonna be?

why are you underwhelmed? i was considering getting some

They seemed to have changed the material that they use. The older ones were a little more heavy and flexible than the current ones. The newer ones seem lighter, more rigid and kinda feel cheapish.

Just my opinion, I’d like to try something else.

Since I just got my first new 4 Runner on Friday and I will say here I'm not a big on mods, I keep then pretty much stock from the factory. I just ordered a Red TRD emblem to go on the rear gate and will put it down on the right rear corner of the gate at the bottom.

Congrats on the new rig. Like you, I will be light on "mods". I will off road mine so I want the improved protection of sliders and heavy duty skids. I will eventually need better tires than came on mine, but that will be about it.

Thanks, I'm 78 years old, so my off road days are behind me. I still buy my vehicle in there off road models, just because I like the look and drive of them.

Boy that's a tough one. I have a lot I'd like to do to it. The first true mod will likely either be to lift it or to put in some molle panels on the back windows. However first there is a bunch of maintenance I need to do. And some stuff the previous owner did I need to undo/figure out.

Not sure if it counts as a mod per se, but the first thing I did was install an aftermarket head unit and an in-dash USB port.

My first legitimate mod is going to be redoing all the LEDs in the cluster, dash, hvac, and center console. Which I should be getting into next week.

Skids

Just purchased a full set of armor from 4x Innovations (gas tank skid, full drivetrain skid system, and sliders). They are way beefier than I imagined and couldn't be happier. Apart from all the small items (lights, winch, spacers, etc.) the next big purchase will be the lift.

This sounds like a Jeep Forum; how much can I spend to make me happy. Well most 4 Runner owners probably don't do anything, like me and are totally happy the vehicle as is. I personally added a center console tray, this makes quick access to things used frequently. I'm very happy with my new TRD Off Road just as it is.
