First thing I did was move the drawer system I built for my 4th Gen over. I think I'm going to build a whole new one due to the expanded width in the 5th Gen. Just have to get through a 2k mile move out to San Diego first.

My first mod was to drop it from silly height to a useable height. Next mod will be boost gauge and to play with the boost and fueling

I don't know if you consider it a mod but I'm switching to synthetic oil and a trd oil filter.

Wheels and tires. I have two options.

1. Get a trade in value while they are new and have them swap out before I pick it up. I have done this route before with success.

2. Sell the set as new

Don't have the 4R yet, but I have the wheels standing by. SCS Ray's 10 in Matte gunmetal.

265 KO2 tires. Waiting until last min. on those to get the newest production code, since they last soooo long.

was about to buy a new limited but I wasn't very impressed and I saw a used built up sr5 at the dealer for $10k less. so I got the used '16 sr5 cause it has a 3" lift, 285/70 BFG tires, the TRD wheels id want, and an ARB aluminum roofrack with lights plus the tint was nice, those window things, the hood deflector thing, it even had the emblems blacked out. I'm gonna add my ARB awning, a few lights, and my sPOD from last car. I had an alpine gps headunit put in, westin running boards, and last night I ordered the warn semi hidden winch bumper, a smittybilt winch, pushbutton start kit, new door speakers, and an auto-dimming homelink rearview mirror. the only other things i'm thinking about are tactical seat covers with MOLLE webbing to carry my shit, hood louvers eventually, and I'm not positive if I need lockers or not. I'm big into overlanding which is why I got a 4runner

I hope to add some USB ports soon, just trying to learn the best way to go about it. I'm an A/V tech for my day job, but car wiring is a path I've never ventured too far down.Looks like there's a lot of great info here, so I think I've found the right place to learn.

I did this in my 4th Gen in under an hour and most of the time was spent repainting the faceplate because I didn't want the bright blue lights on the unit I bought distracting me. You can definitely do this mode.

My first mod was window tint. Gotta have dark windows. I hadn't thought about USB ports until y'all mentioned adding them. Now, I'm going to look into upgrading the existing ports and maybe adding a couple extra high output usb ports as well.

first thing I did when I got mine, was install Airlift bags in the rear end, as I was leaving the next morning with my travel trailer to the mountains.. I wish I could have added a supercharger to that too since these things aren't very fun towing through the long hills.. Oh well! Still love the thing.

So I got my 18 4Runner SR5 premium (needed the 7 seats with 4 kids) ...

My 4Runner will be 90%daily driver 10% mild off roading with the kids/fam

Brand New SR5 Premium (no 3rd row seat) - my first mod: the black TRD wheels. Probably 97% road use and an occasional 'mild' trail.
