What’s your first mod gonna be?

I just recently picked up a 2007 4Runner 4x4 Sport with 87k on it. I'm coming from a jeeping background (CJ, Scrambler) and need to study up on mods for the 4runner.

I know I'd like to have a lift and a roof rack and a front and rear bumper mods but what I've also heard from reading is the added weight will affect gas mileage in a negative way.

Also, engine power.. added weight of bumper, (front and rear) would affect pep of engine? Are the mods for this?

just recently got a 99 sr5. just doing a couple inexpensive mods. first I took off the running boards, and deck plate mod. working on getting rid of a little bit of rust right now!

I ordered the Gobi Stealth in July. Still not yet arrived.
I am going to wait on the new rims and tires until I run the stock into the ground. Maybe the 30,000 mile mark. I like the BFG's. Maybe a bilstein lift.
I plasti dipped the stock rims and emblems. Looks nice.

So I got my 18 4Runner SR5 premium (needed the 7 seats with 4 kids)

My wish list is
icon suspension lift (stage 2 maybe 3 later)
Gobi stealth rack
Method NV matte
BFG KO2s
C4 Fab slimline bumper and winch,
Tepui rooftop tent (idk which one and it’s $$$$$)

What about you guys where are you trying to do.

My 4Runner will be 90%daily driver 10% mild off roading with the kids/fam

Dang, you're patient with your tires! Well, I guess it depends on how many miles you plan on putting on each year lol.

1999 4Runner that I've had since 2004. 240,000 miles. Hopefully, I'll get another couple hundred out of it! Happy Thanksgiving!

My 4runner didn't com with any running boards, so a nice looking set of nerf bars is going to be my first purchase.

Just picked up a second set of rims to match the stock set. I have some bomber winter tires en route. On my last truck I just remounted the summer or winter tires every season, but the bead got all gummed up and I constantly had slow leaks, so this time around I pulled the trigger on spare rims.

I guess come to think of it, the first thing I did was to add some nice Yakima crossbars to be used for skis and kayaks and one of those cool roof baskets if I can ever dream up an excuse to get one!

My first mod at 326 miles to be exact was new wheels and tires. 285/70/17 KO2 will fit on stock suspension for on road use. You will have to remove the front mud flaps and trim the front bumper which you have to do no matter what. Trimming is on the lower inner edge of the bumper where you really can't see. You'll have to do this to run a 285 even with a lift so may as well get it out of the way now.

I just a 2017 sr5 4x4 in exact same color! I'm new to the club. I like that look man

Coming from a Jeep TJ that I put far too much money into mods. Love it, need something bigger, and don't like the newer gen Jeeps. Looking for a 3rd Gen Manual T4R and planning to keep it simple, good all terrains and potentially a small lift, but hesitant to start the snowball effect. Oh and hoping to minimize rust repair "mods"
