First mod was a set of sliders with kickouts on the 2018 TRD Off Road. They protect the vehicle offroad, in parking lots, serve as a step to get in as well as to access the roof rack. They also look great!
My 1st must do mod was lights! I can't stand those piss yellow 90's light bulbs hahahaha. How did we ever drive like that before HID's ! And I started driving in the 90's !
So 1st mod I did it last night. Installed a 55w Xenetec HID bulb conversion from eBay for $40 from seller Xentechid. Slim ballast, newer technology. 6000k diamond white bulb output color. I also had to buy a conversion wire harness for 9003/H4 to 9006 bulb connections $10.
Now my 3rd Gen TR4 puts out nice white light like it came off the assembly line in 2019!
I'm thinking of putting dedicated winter tires on the 20" rims of the Limited and getting a set of black TRD Pro 17" rims for the summer. Don't know which tire yet though....
I only have a 1994 4runner, but my first mod was rims and tires! then slowly came a cheapo body lift, and so on. I tried to post pics on my garage option but it never worked
Did LED interior lights, and came with a leveling kit / bigger tires.
Next up for me will be the black emblems, 6500k LED headlights, 3500k LED fog lights, and mudflap removal (tires rub in reverse - anybody highly advise against this though?)
Down the road I'll be looking at a warn front bumper / winch combo, and wheel spacers (debating between 1.5" and 2")
My 2019 Limited is approaching 2 weeks old. So far got the front windows tinted and I just installed HIDs low beam and LEDs high (with DRL module). I’ve got Oem LED fogs waiting to go on.
The lights were critical to me. Other things I plan to do include LED interior lights and LED reversing lights. Also building a drawer/bed system in the back.
Some pie in the sky wish list items that probably won’t happen due to money are an awning, fridge and TRD 17” rims with summer rubber and putting dedicated winter tires on my 20” rims.
Just brought my 19 TRD ORP home, but didn't even get out of the dealer without adding the TRD Pro wheels and grille...that was a must do.
Still looking at cargo management up top (racks), as I carry a few different types of loads (Skis, Bikes, etc). Clearance is also a concern with the garage. Like the low profile racks.
look forward to the work done by those in this forum to add to my list of pending mods....lots of great ideas here!
My first mod on my 3rd gen was to black out the windows on the super white with some window deflectors. But then I was a student and earned little. Now I have finished college and work brings me pleasure. I write articles for the site customessaymeister. where you can find a lot of useful information and interesting ideas that will help you write a cool essay
I was lucky my used TRD PRO came with the SSO Front Bumper I wanted; it also came with a winch! It also had Tinted Windows, LED Bulbs/Fogs, Weather Tech Mats/Wind Deflectors... so all that is covered. Here's first 3 MODS I plan to do in order:
1) SSO Stage 2 High Clearance
2) Gobi Rack and Ladder
3) Suspension w/ BMC
