wheel alignment : too much rust

I plan on getting my lower ball joints replaced for my 02 4runner under the recall. and get a wheel alignment. Would there ever be a case where there is too much rust under the car in these areas to do a wheel alignment? An sort of input?

The adjustment cams could be frozen not allowing them to align it. Or the tie rods and LBJ could be so rusty they can't align/replace the LBJ. How bad is your rust?

You could take it in to the dealer and ask them to look at it and see if they think the rust will be an issue.

The cam bolts can be a nightmare.

Make sure to loosen the bolt FIRST. Never the nut. The nut is fused into the cam and will never ever spin.
