If they knew, I bet they would have said...

If your calipers contact a little bit, I know some guys have just gotten some 1/4in spacers to fix it. You can buy them at autozone for pretty cheap, and they work with the stock length lugs.

Anyone have any reservations about 1/4in spacers? I havn't heard any. I bet they rust quick, but what doesn't on these things...

he was speculating based on one of them not needing spacers.
I think he is saying over the years you (quicksilver) or me (orig poster?brians2sun) may have had replacement calipers through the years and that either of them may not be aware of the change thus creatin a need for spacers on 1 and not the other....

Exactly^^. I know I have never changed my calipers in the 10 years I've had this truck, but the PO could have possibly changed them during the 1st 4 years of it's life (although I doubt it since hardly anything breaks in the 1st 4 years on a 4runner). It could just be a small variation between years, but I don't know.

Nelson, you're probably right about 1/4" spacers. That would be enough for mine to clear the calipers. I just went with 1" spacers because my tires are so tall and skinny, I wanted to widen my stance anyways, just for stability if nothing else.
