Where is everyone mounting their winch control pack?

I have a Demello front bumper with an M8000 mounted in it. How and where is everyone mounting their control pack for their winch on aftermarket bumpers? This is not to include wireless setups, as I plan on using wired only so easy access to the plug is required.

Mine's wireless but we relocated the control pack up towards the driver's corner of the engine bay.

I have a hidden winch and my control pack is behind the fuse box near the drivers side firewall.

Mine is relocated to the right support strut for the nose in front of the radiator.

Mine is above my winch mounted to the cross bar which is behind the grille and in front of the radiator. So essentially it's right behind the Toyota emblem. The plug is easily accessible about 2 inches below and to the left of the hood catch. I would include a pic but I would have to remove the front engine radiator cover thingy.

IMO - You should leave your solenoid pack on the winch and just relocate the remote plug. It's better for a number of reasons. First is that it's just easier. Second, you don't end up with an extra 10 feet of wiring to deal with and the resistance that goes along with it. Your winch will pull harder with shorter wires. Finally there's no benefit to moving the solenoids unless they don't fit for some reason.

I relocated the plug to the driver's side fender, installed a fuse and relay set with a master switch and a wireless relay set. So I can use either the plug in winch remote or the wireless system. And the master switch means I can turn it all off and you can't just grab the wireless remote and screw something up. I put it all in a water tight box on a bracket against the fender wall. The location is where it should be if you want to use a wired remote. In that location you can feed the remote cable through the cowel area near the hood hinge without pinching it and it easily reaches the driver's seat where you'll be 99% of the time when you're winching.

Anybody with a front plate bumper like a Shrockworks or Demello care to share some photos of your setup? I've been toying with the idea of mounting it somewhere inaccessible or under the hood, then running a Warn socket extension to a convenient location.

Plate bumper here also have dual batteries, compressor and windshield fluid reservoir under the hood so no real room for the control box. So it's mounted up front under the hood latch and behind the Toyota "Sombrero" we then cut a hole to access the plug for the controller. It still retains the factory length wires since its sitting close to the winch. Also since it's up front I have it on a kill switch so its not hot. You cannot see it from the front since its tucked behind the emblem and never mind the tie wrap its holding a trans cooler hose up out of harms way. Pic below...

Did something very similar but flipped it around to use the dovetails on the other side of the box. No drilling required, just 3x 10mm bolts and washers.

Mine is mounted on the winch and I have a wireless controller so no cable needed. Back-up plug is mounted at winch just in case I need to plug in.

I would've done something similar to this, but the control pack doesn't fit on the winch in the Demello bumper. I ended up doing what [MENTION=110414]Taco04[/MENTION] did as a temporary solution. It works, but that top part of the grill doesn't sit flush anymore, so I need to figure something else out. Any more ideas?

Your solenoid probably will fit right on the winch where it comes. I would not move it if it fits. Shorter power cables = No reason to reinvent the wheel here. The closer to the winch motor the solenoids are the better.

Just remote mount the actual plug with smaller 14ish guage wires and run that up to somewhere easy to plug in.

Mine is mounted on the winch. The dealer cut two holes in the black plastic under the hood, one above the solenoid and one above the clutch lever. I can easily reach the solenoid plug and the clutch lever by just opening the hood and reaching through the holes.. The 12' remote cable comes out through one of the grill openings allowing the hood to be closed. On mine the cable is not much of an issue because I have wireless.

As others have done, I mounted on the left side bracket. No holes needed drilling just lined up existing holes and ran some bolts thru it.

However, I am probably going to move it. Mine is wireless, but it just doesn't seem right where it is. SO I will probably extend the wireing and move it up farther into the engine bay.
