Where to buy assembled shocks?

I decided to keep my 4runner after a long contemplation of selling it. I also decided to lift it since my XREAS is going out anyway. I want to do the 5100's up front with OME 885 coils. I want to buy them assembled so I can install them myself. Where can I buy them already assembled? or what are my options?

Also should I replace any other part of the shocks while I'm in there.

I was falling asleep as I typed that last night. I bought my 5100s from them and had them preassemble it all. It saved me a lot of time and hassle. I pulled the old stuff out and threw the new stuff right in. No switching parts, no not having something I needed to finish the job etc. To me it was well worth the money they charge. 5100s with 885s should be good with your v8 as long as you don't plan to add a bumper etc anytime soon. You're coming close to the height where you'd want new UCAs to compensate for the height but you can do a little research and the 4th gen section has a sticky that explains it all.

Wheelers is great
 
wheelers is ok. Their prices are great but their shipping is painfully slow. It takes 3+ days for them to even think about shipping it then they make the label. It will sit for another day then finally process through USPS/UPS.

I also hate how theres no shipping charges until you already buy.

If you buy a lot of shit online you realize this little stuff kills you.

i second this. i bought top plate spacers from wheelers, great price, shipping wasnt bad cause they were small, but wheelers never sent me a confirmation that they even received my order, and i got the tracking info the day they arrived at my house. if i wasnt buying $15 worth of spacers and was buying one of their icon kits, id be pretty concerned if thats what happened
 
Would you guys suggest that I buy everything separate and then have a local shop compress them? I don't want to have to stop the project midway through and go compress them with my old top hats etc. I'd rather them just be assembled from the start.
 
Buy them seperate, rent a spring compressor, do it yourself. It is stupidly easy to do! I left the top strut mounts in my truck, mostly because they were stuck in there, and although it was tight I got them right in. If you pull the whole spring/shock combo out and use a spring compressor you won't have any issues.
This is one of those "So easy a caveman can do it" moments. ;)
 
I heard that spring compressors are dangerous... Truth? Also should I be replacing any other parts while I'm in there? Bushings and what not.

Any tool can be dangerous if used wrong. The spring compressors aren't bad, just make sure it is fully seated before tightening it. The dangerous part comes in if it slips off because you didn't make sure it was mounted all the way. Honestly it's just as dangerous trying to squeeze that whole setup into the mounting locations after putting the lift parts together. My LCA didn't want to flex down all that easily and I had to use a 4' prybar to squeeze it all in.
and don't use some cheap crap compressor either, get a quality one. They're about $50 if I remember right. I ended up buying one for future use.
Edit: you shouldn't have to replace any bushings and such, but check them out and make sure you don't see any signs of wear. IF you do then replace as needed. Most are very easy to replace, at least while it is apart.

i get the fear with spring compressors, i know i don't love using mine but you can easily tell whether they are secure or not. i like having them cause i don't just use them on my 4runner, but if its a one time thing, it may be easier to take the parts to a shop and have them put it together
