Does anybody have any idea where I might find some heated power mirrors? I've got this cockamamy idea for them, but I can't find the heated ones anywhere. Ebay, craigslist, rockauto, partsgeek, nothing. Anybody got any ideas?

I think all limiteds from 99 or 2000 and up have heated mirrors. They are activated when you press the rear window defrost button.
So I'd say check some yards for newer limiteds.

Has anyone completed this mod? I would like to add heated mirrors to my 98. My previous experiences with wiring from the door to the vehicle have been painful. I'm guessing I would need pretty high amperage for heaters so a relay or two will be required between the defrost switch. A link would be great if anyone has one

Kicker is that there are no yards up where I'm at. The only one is an inventory-only yard that marks things up to almost OEM pricing.

My 2000 highlander/sport whichever name you use choose has them as well. Never needed to do any repair work with them to know the ins and outs of the wiring or anything but I doubt it is too complicated, a LOT of pre-Lexus era Toyotas had them. My 89 Supra, 87 Celica GT-S, 90 Cressida etc etc even had them.

heated mirrors are standard on sr5's from 1999 on as far as my research goes--my 99 sr5 has them--my 98 sr5 didn't--nice to have up here in NH

I have them as well on my 99 SR5. I was actually looking to score a second set to see if they might make decent mirrors for my powerstroke (has anybody else noticed how freakin' huge and clear 4R mirrors are? It's crazy.) I just can't find heated/power mirrors anywhere. There in an abundance of aftermarket heating elements online, though. Might just have to go that route. Thanks guys!

i think that is just the mirror that goes along with an already heated mirror T4r.

It is, I don't think you're going to find any type of conversion kit or anything. You could always replace the glass, and run your own wiring to the defrost circuit. Viola! Heated mirrors!

OK - this is kind of funny. As I read this, I was thinking it'd be nice to have heated mirrors - I have them on another car and they are handy. It's an Odyssey, and fairly frequently they get foggy and I turn them on to defrost. Then I started thinking about it, and I can't say that I remember the mirrors ever staying fogged up on my 4Runner. My 2000 SR5 4Runner.

Wait, so I have power heated mirrors as well on my 2000 SR5? If so, I activate them by using the rear defrost button?

Yes. I didn't know that I had them until I woke up and they were frozen, hit the rear defrost, and the ice magically melted.

Im doing this on my LAnd Cruiser soon. I bought the grip heaters just need to do the work.
