Which BFG/Michelin Tire ? 255/75/17 or Stock 265/17

Warranty credit so I can only pick from BFG/Michelin offerings. Running 7" TRDP Sema's on a 19 ORP Barcelona KDSS. NJ 95% road miles. Currently on 255/17 K02 C rated that keep balance on 7.5" trail rims.

Try again with K02 255/75s and hope for a better batch and fit with the 7" TRD Rim?

Go grandpa style with Defender M/S highway tire but in 255/75 ? (risky since I can't seem to find any pics of that actual tire )

Really liking the 32" height of 255/75 but might be open to stock size if it means less problems with my KDSS that was just repaired.

Forgot to add the biggest pro I see on paper... Defenders are 38lbs vs 46lbs for K02. So 8lbs x4, 32lbs rotating mass. Not chump change when it comes to the turtle V6 4Runner engine

KO2s look so good on 4 Runners. I prefer Coopers but if those are your only choices go with the stock size.

Agreed on K02 being the best looker. But given my redo chance, Im trying to be logical and see if its still the way to go for my given function / NE weather. Here are the 255/75/17's that Im warrantying due to balance issues. I like the somewhat skinny/tall look in all but the rear mudflap comparison. This will also shift over another .5" towards fender when I mount the TRDP Rims. What says the forum???

The stock size Defenders have a wider Section Width and wider Tread Width than the skinny ones you're looking at.

Why would you want to put less rubber on the road when you're spending 95% of your time on the pavement? The tires are what keeps you on the pavement.

Grandpa says, come on out in the sand and the mud and have some fun sonny boy. The stock size Defender M/S get the job done easily and are good highway tires too.

The only thing that’s steering me away from the MS Michelin is our aspect ratio in stock size 70 or even 75. That’s a lot of sidewall height and I’m fearing the Michelin will just look like a goofy smooth round donut in our 4Runner size. Maybe their AT2 tire might look somewhat better and be a good compromise.

I was only putting less rubber width down in order to gain 32” height on stock suspension. Hence the 255/75 skinnies. Given my recent KDSS repairs, maybe I should just go stock size so they can’t potential screw me if something pops up again.

Also, the measuring rim width on most of these tires is 8”, so mounting on a 7” rim will cause that sidewall / section width to bulge even more. Heard to expect .2” for every .5” in rim difference
