Which Bilstein 5100 rear shock?

I have these for my rear with OME 890 springs on my 99. I've always though that they were a little bouncy and unstable feeling.

After reading some posts it seems like these are also an option and might be better because they are valved for springs as opposed to leaf springs. These are for a 4th gen 4Runner and later model FJ Cruisers. It seems as if these are being included in the SS lift kit being sold. They also have the right size lower eyelet, although they seem to have a different bushing setup on top.

Anybody if any input on their experiences with either of these shocks?

I just installed the Tunda 5100's with some 890's I have not put too many miles on it yet but initial impression is that the shocks might be way too long for 890's they seem mostly compressed when unloaded on flat pavement.
Not to thread jack but has anyone else noticed this?
I would also be interested in opinions on the FJ/4th Gen 5100's

What model are they, do they have a model number printed on them?
They look like the Tundra (24-100144) shocks.
What springs are you using with them?
Thanks.
I'm not sure what the model number is. I got them off wheelersoffroad.com and they don't say the model number but they are for the 96-02 4runner. Not the Tundra. I have the Ome 890s with them and it is a lot softer than I thought it would be. Not a stiff ride at all. Pretty comfortable actually. Especially when loaded.

I think length wise they are OK. If they are too long though, that would mean that the 4th gen are also too long as they are an inch longer compressed and extended with about a 1/4 inch more travel. I was more concerned about the valving as RIDEALL mentioned in his post in this thread post #11.

Those are the tundra shocks with the pre installed lower bushings

Yes, I think you're right. So those would be the same as Sonoran Steel & would be the ones that we're both running now?
My kit is 2 years old so I'm pretty sure I have Tundra's not 4thGen/FJ's. If they are offering them now in their kits I didn't read about it. I'd call SS to confirm.

Rear 5100 (24 100144) have wrong sized eyelet bushing

First time user for the site. Couldn't find the answer to my issue, and this thread is the closest one to it.
In the process of replacing all the suspension and shocks with the Bilstein 5100 and Tundra/OME 906 setup. Once I got to the rears and fought off the original OEM shocks (2000 SR5 4WD, they were completely shot of course), I noticed that the eyelet is a different size overall and that the bushing is too small for the mount. The bushing that it came with also has a sleeve in it where the OEM ones were just rubber bushing to mount. I know that sometimes you'll have to press out the bushings and replace them with tapered ones, I'm just wondering if anyone else has had this issue before with this 5100's.

Thank you all in advance! Solid info and support here so far.

Look up the PN on the shock and see what the actual application is. The 4Runner specific 5100's (that are designed to work with those 906 springs!) fit perfectly with all stock 4Runner stuff.

I have the part number listed in the title, but i should have put a "PN" in front of it. They're the PN# 24-100144. They're originally for the 2000-2006 Tundra I believe, but have been used for a mild lift for the rear (only 1.5"-2").
I did find ONE other time where someone was having the same issue that I am. They just pressed them out and replaced it with some daystar bushings (PN# KU08007BK) with a 3/4 ID. I have them ordered and will update this thread if it works out.

5100 and bushings

Got everything assembled tonight since the bushings got delivered. The Daystar bushings were the right size, went in easy with some WD40 and some mild persuasion. Worst part was the top of the shock that we all know about. Whoever decided to put all that stuff in such a confined space, knowing that the components will need to be swapped out, never planned on doing it themselves.
