White House Pokemon Go

This past saturday night I witnessed three teenage guys literally running around old town littleton, not chasing around chicks, but looking for pokemon. Priorities have definitely shifted since I was a teen. Hard to get laid when you are spending all of your energy trying to pick up pikachu.

I played for a few hours. It was kinda fun- the "Poke Stops" were at landmarks around my neighborhood I had never seen. I enjoyed walking my dogs around to the "Stops" and seeing new things.

My wife's still playing. Today we went to a park down on the waterfront and walked a few miles while she "hatched her eggs" (apparently you have to walk xx distance to get them to hatch. The ones tonight were "5km" eggs). There was, without exaggerating, hundreds of people there at the park walking around playing the game. Socializing, "exercising", and just getting outside. I know that her and I would not have been down there if not for the game. In fact, we've lived here two years and I had never been down there since they don't allow dogs.

I think it's pretty damn cool, myself. Much better than sitting on the couch watching TV or playing Angry Birds.

Tomorrow we're going to go to a dog friendly park and hatch a couple of her "10km eggs".

Of course there are idiots in every crowd, but I am all for kids, teens, adults, whoever getting off the couch and heading outside. Even if it is to play a game on their phone.

There are studies that show that this Pokemon go is mentally helping many people. It's getting them social and it's helpful. I am 50/50 on it. Personally I don't wanna walk around looking for fake shit all day but I don't care if people want to. If it makes you happy more power to you.

The other day we were looking for fishing spots and my friend was using his Pokemon go gps to find water. I had to tell him no on that.. Lol. We were "walking" at 60 MPH

Since its release I have seen a LOT of overweight kids out walking around my neighborhood that I have NEVER seen before. On top of that, families walking around, dogs in tow, playing together.

I don't care who you are, that's good stuff.

The fad appears to be quickly dying, however. We went down to the park we were at a couple weeks ago and where there was 50+ people last time, there was maybe a dozen now

In my opinion:
