Why is it still quiet

Hi guys I put a flowmaster 40 muffler on and did a resonator delete and it's still pretty quiet. Why is that, is it cause it has 4 cats or is it cause it's 2 1/4 pipe?

It is most likely because of the cats. A similar thing happened to me with my old '91 K5 Blazer. I put a 40 series (I think) and cat back on it and just got a little more rumble out of it (350 sbc). I eliminated the cat and the difference was amazing. Sounded like a real truck should. Probably shouldn't be done to one of or trucks though. Besides being illegal it may mess with the computer too...

I put a cherry bomb muffler on my V8 limited.
And it's quite loud, and has a nice idling tone

I deleted my rear cats and have a Flowmaster 50. It's very loud and rumbles for a V6. No trouble with the computer at all.

super 44 gives the 4.0 a deeper tone. to me it might look like you need like a x pipe before the inlet on the muffler. make a vid and let us hear it.
